WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) Hillary Clinton has appeared in more than 30 primary debates during her two presidential campaigns, a deep history she can draw upon as she faces Donald Trump on Monday night.
Clinton has been through the debate gauntlet in two New York Senate campaigns as well as in presidential primary match-ups against then-Sen. Barack Obama in 2008, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders this year and other challengers.
Here's a look at some key moments of Clinton's past debates that could influence her performance against Trump:
__
BULLYING CAN BACKFIRE
Clinton's first 2000 Senate debate with Republican rival Rick Lazio, then New York congressman, shows what could go wrong for Trump if he tries to bully her.

Well, you wouldn't want to bully a candidate for President of the United States, that would be mean-spirited.

Lazio was a lot less known than Trump. Trump doesn’t have to approach her bubble, he has enough on her, so he can lay back and toss a few things at her at will. Its Trumps election to lose, by now he has the support team he needs, so all he needs to do is be cool.

If you’re not able to take a little ribbing from the Donald, you’re not able to be president.

She's never been in a REAL debate. Lazio came across as an inexperienced kid. Who has she ever debated in the past of any substance other than other Rats? Trump will expose her like an atomic bomb for the criminal she is, but he will do it nicely.

I think she will try to talk to "facts", be the policy wonk, which bolsters her lifelong qualifications to be president. Trump will tear these apart, talk right over and past her about the raw emotions, the populism and nationalism that he realizes are more important to the voters. We, speaking for myself, don't care about the details of the wall so long as it is built. I don't care how he and the military defeat Islam so long as it is done, Blacks won't care about fixing urban areas so long as it done. This is what I suspect Clinton and the media, so attuned to specifics they can pick apart, don't understand. Clinton be Clinton, Trump be Trump, he wins. Jeb threw money at his attempt and failed spectacularly, Clinton is repeating the same.
Her biggest challenge and prep is to simply survive from a health and breathing perspective. Media will give her points for that before looking further.

"What's wrong Hillary? Can't you take a joke? Where's your sense of humor??"
"I hardly think the American People will see this as a joke, Mr. Trump."
"Oh come on, Hillary! At this point, what difference does it make? Only joking! Only joking!"

There was a rhetorical question going around about what Trump should do if she starts to wobble, should he approach her to try to save her from a hard fall. Based on Lazio’s experience, the answer is clearly no. Let her take a hard fall.

He can do the old Howie Mandel routine if the audience reacts.
"What! What! What did I say!?" Works whether they chuckle, laugh, boo, or hiss.

Primary debates matter. But this year, they were mostly trivialized by egomaniac moderators.
The final debates are a complete waste. They never matter. Anyone who hasn’t decided yet isn’t going to watch and probably won’t vote (a good thing).

If she doesn’t hit the canvas, she will be declared the winner regardless of how badly she does.

This thread had taken a most unfortunate turn.

Nope Trump should stay behind his podium, after she fall flat on her face, he can be a gentleman and walk over and help her up. But don’t try to prevent it, it can only harm Trump. It would look creepy to people watching.
Just like when Al Gore walked up to George W in one of the debates, that was creepy as well.
