HIGH POINT, N.C. Donald Trumps week began in the wake of explosions in New Jersey and New York. It ended in the aftermath of shootings and riots. For a candidate whose strategy relies on painting a dystopian view of the nation - often based on inaccurate and questionable claims - the tragedies yielded a trove of political opportunities.
Shortly after the first bomb went off -- Trump boasted that he had been ahead of newscasters in calling it a bomb -- he seized upon the terrorist act as justification for some of the most disputed things he has said since announcing his presidential bid.
Terrorism wouldnt have happened if others had opposed the Iraq war as he did, Trump said, even though he had said at the time in a radio interview he supported the war. The problem increased because Hillary Clinton has been silent about Islamic terrorism for many years, Trump claimed falsely. Trump called for profiling people, but insisted he never suggested targeting Muslims, even though he held an event specifically to propose a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States and has called for surveillance of certain mosques.
Washington Post is a legitimate news source. I don’t see why it would be a big deal. It’s not like you are pimping your own blog. Guess people are getting testy as the election draws near.
We can sure see where the Clinton Campaign money is going, right into the Clinton Campaign rags (MSM)...keep pumping all the lies you can think up, it’s helping Trump get the votes to finally take ROTTEN back into her coffin where she belongs...

Some say.....
Of course in the minds of these kool-aid stand liberals St. Hillary can do no wrong, walks on water and is the defender of all that is good in “their” twisted Bizzaro World.
Jim doesn’t want morale killers. That is understood.
But one part of good morale is being able to address the arguments of the opposition cogently.
I don’t know why we couldn’t let things like this be posted on condition that it have appropriate [bracketed comments]. [Barf alert] is common for this purpose.
Jim asked why. Understand your enemy is a good reason why. It looks like it is being made politically correct taboo to ostracize a group even when the group has effectively ostracized itself through its behavior. Some suggestions: Acknowledge this. Take the bull by the horns. Ferret out the unspoken assumptions.

You mean it’s just because they are not “MACHO” enough, rather than because the arguments have been ill framed?
two snowflakes and an ol pervert
Trump didn’t paint the bleak dystopian future. Obama created it. He along with his WH staff, Soros, and complicit, corrupt politicians have caused more chaos and hell on earth on a level far and above any other former U.S. president ever has. No one else comes even remotely close. Take a DNA sample from Obama and you’ll see either “unknown” or Satan in his family tree.
This took 3 WRITERS??? OMG!!! LOSERS!!
I agree. Go ahead and post the articles critical of Trump so they can be thought-through and discredited in an effective way. It’s not a good idea to be in an echo chamber if you want to win the war of ideas.
A total lack of any macho leads one to deliver ill framed and foolish garbage.
But again it implies responsibility on our part to do the right thing.
I think defense will be easier in the case of Trump because Trump appears to be getting divine guidance now (not as though God were not already focusing Trump’s life, even while he was sinning worse than he does now). If you can get in agreement with God, you have the most powerful thing that can ever exist. And even where Trump has been clumsy, his overall drift has apparently been in the right direction.
If we are selling Trump, we are not here to sell Trump as a complete answer, only a better answer than before. We don’t need to descend into name calling, ad hominem filth slinging. Let the Democrats major in that. Even Trump has gotten more circumspect about this in recent time.
A total heaping-up of macho also leads one to deliver ill framed and foolish garbage.
What’s up with that, the multi-authored articles? I’m seeing them more and more and this time I’m finally asking what the heck??
Reminds me of songs with multiple authors. All the labor is used to get it just exactly perfect.
I think it succeeds, even if the result is exactly perfect foolishness.
I was talking with four guys today, all of whom I know in another context but never have had a word of political discussion before. Once the ice was broken it became a contest of who could say the best things about Trump and make the most fun of Hillary.
In northern Illinois, I have yet to see a single Hillary yard sign. Trump and Bernie.
I was thinking the same thing. Glad you gave voice to it, Jim. That's why I've been on Free Republic for 17 years ...and counting!
