That’s because Churchill was ready to go before FDR. So it wasn’t FDR who put it together. Churchill didn’t call WWII the “unnecessary war” for nothing.

Interesting take. I suppose Churchill called WW II the “unnecessary war” because Hitler easily could have been stopped anytime before, say, 1938.

But I still must give FDR great credit here. He saw that Britain needed help, and so he provided it, even before Pearl Harbor. And FDR rallied the nation! Everyone was made aware: This is a fight for our vey existance.

Contrast that with W's half-hearted "Islam is Peace" remarks. If you are in a war, you had better be in it to win. FDR realized that. W did not.

It is barbaric tragedies like this that make me remind myself that I cannot pass judgement on another person.

But I can arrange the meeting where they get judgement.
