That’s fair. The press’s desire to sensationalize what is at root a very complex and sad and difficult situation is a part of the problem. But on the other hand just because these stories are upsetting to people like me, doesn’t mean they’re not important stories.

It’s been a long time since the press had much decency or self-constraint. (I wasn’t suggesting a government-imposed moratorium; but a situational and common-sense refusal to give antisocial behavior a soapbox.)
