(WISH) – Another CEO heads to Capitol Hill and is certain to face hard questions, and NASCAR has been hit with a lawsuit over racial discrimination.
The head of Mylan Pharmaceuticals, the company that makes and sells the EpiPen, will be on Capitol Hill Wednesday.
Heather Bresch said it’s not true the company makes big profits of off its lifesaving allergy treatment.
Bresch’s written statements said Mylan makes about $50 off each pen after rebates, fees and other costs are deducted.
In other business headlines, NASCAR is being sued for allegedly trying to hinder efforts to bring racial diversity to the racing world.
Terrance Cox III, the CEO of Diversity Motorsports claims that NASCAR refused to work with him and tried to prevent him from increasing the number of African Americans in the sport.
Cox is seeking $500 million in damages.
NASCAR denies discrimination and said in a statement that Cox’s suit is an attempt to gain publicity, and that it would pursue action against cox for defamation.
i.e. NASCAR refused to pay Terrance the shakedown money.
Sounds like there’s been a little misrepresentation going on:
Supposed partner, comedian Steve Harvey, says he wishes Terrence Cox had some money so he could sue him, but he doesn’t have any.
About the time “White Men Can’t Jump” came out, Ted Danson started dating Whoopi Goldberg. Someone observed that they should make a movie called “White Men Can’t See.”

This is a dog poop lawsuit, with no basis in reality. NASCAR already has a successful Drive To Diversity program. Fight it, counter sue (already done...claiming defamation). The plaintiff is simply looking for a settlement payday. Take a note from Trump, NASCAR: rarely, if ever, settle.

Caught the pilot for "his" new show. Really a vehicle for that Samsung refrigerator actress, but anyway, I remember now why I generally avoided Ted Danson since "Cheers".

The EpiPen cost is a far more important topic than the NASCAR suit. The "other costs" include enormous salaries of CEO Heather Bresch, daughter of Dem WVa Senator Joe Manchin. Her mother was president of the National Association of State Boards of Education when a law was passed urging EpiPens into every public school in the USA. Many states have laws requiring them.
The life-saving EpiPen price went from about $100 per 2-pack in 2009 to about $600 per 2-pack this year. Bresch's salary rose even faster than the price of the EpiPEns, from 2.4 million in 2007 to 18.9 million last year.
Trump should latch onto this story as the numbers are simple and the special interest/Dem Senator connection is obvious. In 2014 the company moved its corporate address from Pennsylvania to the Netherlands.
