Am about to post another story on this....also concerning the PCP...
But I ask you this....They told him to get down. I have severe arthritis in both knees. If an officer asked me to get down on the ground I could not do it without help. So does that give them the right to shoot me? What about others with health problems? Like that retarded man they almost shot but hit the black man instead down in Florida? The ones sitting in the middle of the street? Yes he did not follow the cops orders but he was retarded.
This is tough to call since there are not enough facts yet. But where was the THREAT? The guy may not have obeyed the commands, but that alone is not enough to justify shooting. There needs to be a serious discussion about LEO training AND public education if we are to step back from the “us vs them” mentality that has developed. Having the publics trust (as well as a healthy respect) has got to be part of the job.
THIS IS A VIDEO ALL LAW ABIDING PEOPLE MUST SEE AND REALIZE FOR ITS TRUTHFULNESS!!
Why Do Police Sometimes Shoot Unarmed People?
