Former Cruz supporter and star of the hit reality show Duck Dynasty Phil Robertson appeared at the Value Voter Summit this past Friday.
Robertson took some time at the beginning of his remarks knocking down reasons why Cruz Crew people say they are not willing to vote for Trump.
To those who say, “I’d vote for him if he were as conservative as I am,” the reality star said, “If I did that, I would not vote for anyone but myself.”

Others say, “Well, Donald Trump sticks his foot in his mouth, that’s why I’m not voting for him.” The evangelical Christian’s response to the Values Voter crowd was to look in the Old Testament, chronicling all the foibles and shortcomings of even the most successful and renown leaders.
“Better a man who sticks his foot in his mouth than a woman who pours out lies,” Robertson said, garnering hearty applause of approval from the audience. The reality star said he told Trump, “If you really want to see something, film me baptizing you,” causing some in the crowd to hoot and applaud.
He added, “The left-wingers will literally go crazy, and the evangelicals will swarm you like a mighty throng … I’m hoping he will do that.” The Duck Commander closed by quoting the Revolutionary-era firebrand Patrick Henry, who said, “It cannot be said too strongly or too often that this great nation was not found by religionists, but by Christians…this country was founded on the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”
As reported by Western Journalism, Trump received a standing ovation coming and going at the Values Voter Summit earlier on Friday.
The theme of Trump’s speech was the centrality faith must play if America is to reclaim its heritage of greatness.

Cruz is only hurting himself at this point, he’s losing the respect of many.
I was a Cruz supporter. I don’t get him now. Every election cycle there is only one winner. He lost. A real conservative doesn’t do this prissy drama queen act. You dust yourself off and back the most conservative candidate. No question Donald Trump is the only conservative candidate. Unfortunately Ted Cruz has not shown himself man enough to do that. As a conservative woman that just disgusts me.

Wouldn’t this be a hoot of a scene. Duck Dynasty baptizes Donald in a mixed-race church somewhere.
“Liberals” have long been happy winning their war a battle at a time. “Conservatives” sometimes seem to be their own worst enemies, making the perfect always an enemy of the good.
I believe Cruz had a lesson of faith to learn. Namely that the religious model of his pappy, dominionism, is a lousy guide to the work of Christ.
He may be back, humbler but wiser, and I wouldn’t rule Cruz out of an important role at that point. But he’s currently stuck his spiritual foot into his spiritual mouth and can’t even seem to get it back out, unlike Donald.

Texas Trump voters needs to wake up and engage. The Texas Republican Party is stuck with more than enough self righteous rubes for Cruz at the grassroots level.
TRUMP barely had ANY earned delegates at the state convention! Those delegate slots were filled by Cruz supporters, who could not wait to get to National to unload Trump on that mythical Second Ballot.
We better be ready to show up in force, for 2020. Off the lawn mower and on to our precinct meetings.

We have waited for a guy like this for decades. Well here he is. Now folks won't vote for him.
As I watch this election cycle, I am reminded that many of the Jews in Jesus days refused to recognize Him as the Messiah.
I have better understood that reality watching people refuse to recognize greatness in Trump.

He sure showed his true colors. I just don’t understand how he is not embarrassed at his own behavior. He showed the whole world he is not an honorable man. What an awful legacy to leave one’s children. A sad, sorry excuse for a man. We need real men of honor to save our nation, and Ted showed us he did not have good character. Very sad.
I would LOVE to see this! He might just do it, too. Oi, the ratings! On second thought, I don’t think he would really do it though. It would give the liberals too much material and would be divisive. Still, it would be a hoot!
