“Karl is taking the 5th.”

I was hoping he had some information I did not.

Like the man said, you’re entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts.

Too many of these BLM incidents get started with hysterical rumors and outright lies.

Note: None of the articles at AP/NBC/HuffPo mention the fact thst the man refused orders to stop approaching his car, that he lowered his hands when he reached his car, and that the officers didn’t know whether he had a weapon within reach.

AP: TULSA POLICE SAY MAN HAD NO GUN; VIDEO SHOWS HE HAD HANDS UP

BY JUSTIN JUOZAPAVICIUS
ASSOCIATED PRESS

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — An unarmed black man killed by a white Oklahoma officer who was responding to a stalled vehicle can be seen in police video walking away from officers and toward his SUV with his hands up before he approaches the driver’s side door, where he drops to the ground after being shocked with a stun gun then fatally shot.

In Tulsa police helicopter footage that was among several clips released Monday showing the shooting of 40-year-old Terence Crutcher and its aftermath, a man in the helicopter that arrives above the scene as Crutcher walks to the vehicle can be heard saying “time for a Taser.” He then says: “That looks like a bad dude, too. Probably on something.”

Police Chief Chuck Jordan announced before the video and audio recordings’ release that Crutcher had no weapon on him or in his SUV when he was shot Friday. It’s not clear from the footage what led Betty Shelby, the officer who fired the fatal shot, to draw her gun or what orders officers might have given Crutcher. Local and federal investigations are underway to determine whether criminal charges are warranted in the shooting or if Crutcher’s civil rights were violated.

Crutcher’s twin sister, Tiffany Crutcher, called for charges Monday.

“The big bad dude was my twin brother. That big bad dude was a father,” she said. “That big bad dude was a son. That big bad dude was enrolled at Tulsa Community College, just wanting to make us proud. That big bad dude loved God. That big bad dude was at church singing with all of his flaws, every week. That big bad dude, that’s who he was.”

Where are you getting your information that the unarmed man wasn’t?

It started out as some kind of pursuit. Multiple units were involved. The chopper video looks like there is something on the ground at his feet. He wasnt complying in any fashion. As soon as he returned to his car then dropped his right arm he was done for.

You cant see anything helpful at this link but something I found odd.

At 2:00 mark , after the shooting, the 3 officers at the rear of the vehicle back away all in unison. covering the bad guy. I didnt realize there may be some kind of procedure for backing away from a guy you just shot? I dont know WTF that maneuver was.

They could handcuff him, throw him on the ground and shoot him in the back of the head, right on video, and they would still say self defense.

Let’s see. The video says he was tasered. The video also says shots fired. Do you have any reason not to believe those facts?

No weapon.

Chief will not elaborate on initial confrontation and call for backup from the officer.

One shot fired, he said this first. And one Taser fired.

And WTF was that backing up thing they did? Did the officer that fired the gun realize his mistake a microsecond too late? (and the backup maneuver was the supervisor controlling everything until....?) or will they find justification?

If either fact is wrong, then the police released a factious account of what happened. Does anybody really believe that?

The bootlickers won't be happy with that.

Good points. IMO the suspect was scary and exhibited high risk "In your face" reckless disregard for the cops commands. That alone is cause for big concern. It sometimes means the individual could be capable of just about anything.

“What stuff?”

Using their guns first! That “stuff!” You dying at their hands with little provocation. Today there is “zero tolerance” on the part of most cops. They have found that killing citizens as little or no consequences for them unless there is serious video of their actions. You nor I would be found guilty in a heartbeat with abuses of much less severity than shooting someone. I completely support good law enforcement. Unfortunately, every day we see that that commodity is in limited supply.

“I simply explained to you it’s imperative the suspect not be allowed to enter or reach into that vehicle, and that clearly appears is what he was attempting to do. No? “

So he deserved to die for going back to his car even if he had been directed not to? We have hit the bottom of the barrel if that’s how cops think today.

“I posted 2 gifs showing he was on the ground and never got off of it. That is why the police chief said it is a criminal investigation. He no weapons on him or in the car. You guys are scary.”

Thanks for saying that Karl! Seems to me that all to often the “cop suppporters” here are o.k. with someone dying needlessly. Wonder what kind of a whitewash “investigation” will show? There are simply too may cops with size 44 uniforms, slze 4 hats, and the desire to use the gun we allow them to carry.

So he deserved to die for going back to his car even if he had been directed not to?

The suspect made that decision himself. Also in another video it appears the suspect was trying to gain entry to that vehicle. The cops likely had no idea what this suspect might of had inside the vehicle, in addition to ignition keys.

None whatsoever. But when was he tasered? Did the female cop taser him before the camera car got there?

Standing up to a taser is a bad sign. Maybe that he’s doped up, or maybe he has a bulletproof vest on under that big shirt, or he’s just crazy.

Refusing to obey a lawful order could also mean he’s one or more of the above, or maybe he just wants to get back to his vehicle so he can drive off, or drive over the officer, or maybe he’s got a weapon. Maybe it’s a thousand pounds of ANFO fused and ready to go.

Maybe he’s trying to do suicide by cop and wants them to shoot him in the back while his hands are up. Maybe he’s going to force the issue by killing one or more of them.

All he had to do was stop. But, no...

He could have been told to put his hands behind his back.
