As Native Americans protesters face arrest in North Dakota for blocking the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline, TheAntiMedia's Carey Wedler reports a gasoline pipeline spill is currently unfolding in the South. The leak has prompted Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley, Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam, and Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal to declare states of emergency.
The Colonial Pipeline, which runs from Houston to New York, began leaking on September 9, spilling 250,000 gallons of gasoline, or 6,000 barrels. The pipeline was built in 1962, and the current leak in Helena, Alabama, is the largest one Colonial Pipeline has experienced in 20 years, Reuters noted.
AL.com reported that according to the Colonial Pipeline companys spokesperson, Bill Berry, the pipeline could still be leaking:

My sister called from Gainesville said she read this morning that now they are going to build a bypass on the pipeline to go around the part of the line that is affected. They say two weeks. Maybe so maybe six who knows?
If they don’t get some tanker trucks into the Atlanta area tonight there are going to be a lot of unhappy commuters tomorrow morning.
Indeed-wife had two relatives coming up from south GA she hasn’t seen since she was a child. She let them know and they decided to postphone. It’s drying up everywhere.
My stepson works at local Subway. Said customers started telling him around 10am the rumor was ‘no gas for 9 days’ so everyone grabbed their extra gas cans and ran to the gas station. Now they’re ALL empty...
Drove thru Madison County yesterday morning down 231 to Huntsville and across town on 72 and almost every station was open and had gas . . . saw very few plastic bags at a couple of stations. Even the stations that were out Friday night had gas Sunday a.m.
Not sure what situation will be today . . . IF husband goes in to work to vs working from home I’ll ask him to take notice on the drive in.
