Matthew Barzun, who drummed up $3.5 million for Mr. Obama’s first campaign, was named ambassador to Sweden and then ambassador to the United Kingdom... The second largest...was named the head of the Federal Communications Commission. The third largest...was named undersecretary of commerce...
a May 18, 2016, email from an outside lawyer to DNC staffers...suggests a call to “go over our process for handling donations from donors who have given us pay to play letters.” Add this to what the...emails have shown to be a massive pay-to-play operation at the Clinton Foundation, in which megadonors like the crown prince of Bahrain got special access...
So which political party is all about money, influence and special access? The Republican Party held a true, democratic primary. Seventeen candidates battled it out, and the voters choose a nominee that much of the party establishment disliked.

The bad news: the WSJ paywall remains
The good news: the Google search and click to the article method works again
The WSJ claimed their impenetrable paywall was an experiment to gauge site traffic and subscriber-only use. Methinks their post-lockout statistics scared the living hell out of them and their advertisers so they reverted back to the mildly-irritating original system.
When I post WSJ articles, I try to delete the most irrelevant parts of the article in order to get under the word count limit. I think you pretty much get the gist of the article just from what I posted.
One way to minimize that crap would be to require that all political contributions be ANONYMOUS. You can't sell influence if you don't know who is buying. Any American should be allowed to contribute to any party or candidate they choose; that's FREEDOM. But paying to play and getting a desired result should be treated as it is- BRIBERY, a crime.
