Former Secretary of State Colin Powell blasted Donald Trump as a "national disgrace" and "international pariah" in a personal email exchange that was leaked online by hackers.
Powell, a retired 4-star general and a Republican, confirmed the authenticity of the emails to NBC News.
"The hackers have a lot more," he added.
The contents of the emails were first reported by Buzzfeed News. It said the messages had been obtained by the website DCLeaks.com which MSNBC reported is rumored to have ties to Russian intelligence services.
Powell called Trump a "national disgrace" and "international pariah" in a June 17 email to a former aide, saying the Republican presidential contender was "in the process of destroying himself, no need for Dems to attack him."

I don’t think this should be a big deal. There’s plenty of people who thought this of Trump at one time or another.
And plenty of those people are supporting him, or are going to vote for him in November.

My mother gave me a piece of advice long, long before electronic communications and hacking. Never write anything down that you would not want to see on the front page of the New York Times. That advice is especially relevant today. I worked for a company run by a man who was connected correctly but dumb as a brick. He regularly sent around emails directing people to do ethically and/or legally questionable things. Since they couldn’t stop him the company adopted a policy of deleting all emails after 60 days, so they could at least limit the damage.
I think by the time this brouhaha draws to a close, Colin Powell will wish he had never challenged Donald Trump this way. Trump has a map to more closet skeletons than Powell ever could imagine.

Powell is a disgrace. He supported obama. I will never think much of him again.
His rise to celebrity was created by Gulf War 1. He was opposed to many of the things that went right in Gulf War 1. Everyone was a hero for our success but the media found a need to create a black hero. He was their obvious choice.
No mention that the same emails mention how the Clintons HATE the Obamas.
Or that Hillary can barely walk up stairs. The press are such prostitutes. Disgusting.

What I got from this is that he was most interested in speaking fees and seemed he and Hillary were lecture circuit buds.
He’s total GOPe, no talk of Trump policies or the devestation Hillary Judges would bring, just how Trump in his mind is an ass for not being traditional I guess. He is most concerned about his speaking fees than anything else.
