A 36-year-old Scottish tourist wearing traditional Muslim garb had her blouse set on fire in a bizarre incident outside a pricey Fifth Ave. boutique, police sources said Monday.
The victim noticed the sleeve of her blouse was charred and smoldering in the Saturday night attack, just hours before the ceremony marking the 15-year anniversary of 9/11. She was not badly hurt.

“Hoax. There are several every week. If someone wants to set you on fire, theyre not going to burn a bit of your sleeve, and it seems you would notice it!”
Yep, exactly. Nobody chars your sleeve as any sort of a legitimate attack. Definitely a hoax.
The outrage seems to be about the victim being a muzlim, not about a human assaulting another human. The degree of outrage depends on the perp, and the victim.
When perp is a privileged minority and victim is a “privileged White”, there is no outrage.
Curious that "Islamaphobia" is on the rise. And yet "Buddistaphobia", "Hinduphobia", "Zoroaphobia", and so many other phobias about religions that are not mainstream in the US are not on the rise....wonder why that is....golly it boggles the mind....
Is this on video, or was it likely staged by (1) her, (2) someone willing to sacrifice her for political points, or (3) someone from her “faith” who wanted her punished whether for showing some ankle or for some reason of family honor?
You’re right, this IS horrible. Some innocent bystander could have been injured by second-hand smoke.
Nor leave a survivor.
Sure. Just picture Groundskeeper Willie from the Simpsons shouting Allahu Akbar.
I haven’t heard of any fake ones.
It is as much a hate crime as Islam is peaceful.
Amen! That gasbag has a lot to answer for!
