Former CIA Director Jim Woolsey, who served under President Bill Clinton in the early years of his first term, joined Donald Trump's campaign as a senior advisor on Monday.
The Trump campaign touted Woolsey's decision to cross party lines after working for Democrats in the past. The press release issued by the campaign on Monday included a statement from Woolsey in which he said he looked forward to advising the GOP nominee "on the urgent need to reinvest in and modernize our military in order to confront the challenges of the 21st century."
Woolsey, who led the CIA from 1993 until 1995, said in an interview that aired on CNN on Monday that he supports the GOP nominee for president, but made it clear that he sees himself as an adviser more than a political operative....

I betcha he’s got some secrets on Hillary!
Woolsey Relationship with Bill Clinton
As Director of the CIA, Woolsey was notable for having had limited access to President Bill Clinton. According to journalist Richard Miniter:
Never once in his two-year tenure did CIA director James Woolsey ever have a one-on-one meeting with Clinton. Even semi-private meetings were rare. They only happened twice. Woolsey told me: It wasnt that I had a bad relationship with the president. It just didnt exist.
Another quote about his relationship with Clinton, according to Paula Kaufman of Insight on the News:
Remember the guy who in 1994 crashed his plane onto the White House lawn? That was me trying to get an appointment to see President Clinton.

Woolsey was founder and president of Yale Citizens for Eugene McCarthy for President from 1967 to 1968. He was prominently active in the anti-Vietnam War movement.
Woolsey has served in the U.S. government as:
Advisor (during military service) on the U.S. Delegation to the Strategic Arms Limitation Talks (SALT 1), Helsinki and Vienna, 19691970
General Counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services, 197073
Under Secretary of the Navy, 19771979
Delegate at Large to the U.S.-Soviet Strategic Arms Reduction Talks (START) and Nuclear and Space Arms Talks (NST), Geneva, 19831986
Ambassador to the Negotiation on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe (CFE), Vienna, 19891991
Director of CIA, 19931995

well, Reagan said his party left him.
Woolsey is no Ronald Reagan.
In fact, he was a McCain advisor.
Woolsey usually comes down on a pro-American side.
But .. is he there to find out what Trump is doing ..??
Hmmmmm ..???????
I like the move. Everybody gets all worked up over past associations but people change... sometimes for the best. Kellyanne Conway was for Cruz at one time but the job she has done for Trump has been just amazing. It’ll be alright
My concern when I see a cross-over like this, is that it may be a setup for a near-election day exit. Just like the turncoat hispanics, he could leave the campaign three days before the election, claiming some bogus reason. I hope not, but I don’t trust any Democrat.
“sees himself as an adviser”
Sounds okay as long as his info/advice is good.
I hope not, but I dont trust any Democrat.
_____________
Republicans are pretty bad too!
This is a big development. He must know some really damaging stuff on the Hildebeast to do something like this.
Good!
Note that he didn’t join Hillary’s campaign as an advisor, but joined Trump instead.
