Sorry I arrived in USA in 1960 and previous history is not on tip of my tongue. But I can tell you a lot of British history and India history because that is what I studied in school.

BUt you just made my point. FDR was extremely popular IN SPITE OF HIS PHYSICAL DISABILITY. Which also means AMerican people thought he was a good president. Because obviously his mental capacity was very good. Therefore only low information voters will focus on any candidates physical stature instead of their mental prowess.

FDR’s physical disabilities were hidden from Americans.

But yes, if Greg Abbott were to be elected president, his confinement to a wheelchair would not be an issue.
