Hillary's Surrogates Told to Blame Media for 'Deplorables' Coverage

Hillary Clinton’s campaign is urging her surrogates to blame the media for having a double standard if they're pressed about her derogatory dig at "half" of Donald Trump supporters being "deplorables," The Washington Post reports.

According to the Post, the advice is contained in a memo, "'Deplorable' Comment Talking Points," sent out Saturday afternoon to Democrats preparing for TV interviews or other appearances on Clinton's behalf.

Clinton on Saturday expressed "regret" for being “grossly generalistic" and using the characterization of "half" – even as she insisted Trump is amplifying bigoted views.

But the memo says Clinton has "apologized" – a word she didn't use – for saying "most" rather than "some" – and that "obviously not everyone supporting Trump is part of the alt right," the Post reports.

"If pushed," surrogates should shame the media, the memo advises, according to the Post.

"I think we can all agree that if Donald Trump said something controversial about Clinton supporters, it wouldn’t have been in his top 10 list of offensive statements in day," the advice reads, the Post reports.

"It’s well past time the press stopped grading Trump on a curve. So is the press going to cover this story in the right [context], or are they going to hold Hillary to a different standard again? Her comments were 100% scripted. She was reading from a teleprompter. After she called Trump supporters every vile name in the book she saud to her adoring audience “right?”. They started laughing. Every bit of this was planned out. She has issued no apology. One of her surrogates was on Judge Jeanine last night and told the judge that Clinton has been saying these same things for months but apparently no one was listening so she thought she would emphasis them again and she has not apologized. Her follow-up statement was a doubling-down on her remarks. She makes it clear in her statement she meant to label ALL of Trump’s supporters as racists and bigots. The media of course is calling it an apology and trying to play down the entire thing. Then this morning the ridiculous WA Post poll comes and she’s doing great. Her three terrible weeks didn’t exist, didn’t hurt her a bit. She’s seen as “more honest and trustworthy” than Trump. She’s better at fixing the economy than he is. She’s perfect, Trump’s Hitler. That’s the media for you. They ignore any bad news about her and fabricate good news, as in these polls showing that most people think she’s Mother Teresa.

Over and over, the Clinton campaign has attacked Trump’s temperament as being unfit to be president. So, if that’s true, I guess the proper presidential temperament is to call Americans “lazy” and call approximately 25% of them “deplorable”.

One thing we have not seen from Donald Trump is a willingness to bash his own country.

The very fact that the Clintons issue “talking points” they expect the media to dutifully parrot tells you all you need to know about how incorrect the charge is that the media is being soft on Trump.

She had been making the same comments in her off the record fund raisers where they collect the cell phones at the door to prevent a Romney moment. She just decided to start using the term in her scripted comments.

The media won't do it, but it needs to be calmly and factually pointed out that Hillary is simply following Saul Alinksy's Rules for Radicals.

She has been, and always will be, an acolyte, disciple, and apostle of Alinsky, and it flops out in obvious ways on occasion.

Some call it a gaffe, but it is an accidental insight into the core of Hillary and her kind.
