The big problem Trump has is that conservatives only really want to vote for a true conservative, preferably a conservative with an originalist view of the meaning of The Constitution. Most do not believe Trump fits into that category.
Yep - the “perfect” is the enemy of the “good” - which, outside of heaven is an extremely unrealistic expectation.
To “take ones ball and go home” because you “only” get 80% of what you want, is immature and or prideful, and WORSE, goes against (once again) the wisdom of the great Ronaldus Magnus:
