I truly feel there should be an age limit on high school teachers.

My brother taught right out of college and was unnerved a couple of times when he went home to his apartment to find his roommate had a party with some of his students there.

He joined the Air Force soon after. When he retired early on the force reduction program as a Major he went back to teaching and became a principal and college administrator.

Now he has two retirement checks and great wisdom.

this is why I think a teacher should be thirty years old or have taught younger kids for at least five years before teaching high school....24 is just to close in age to the student. you get an immature twenty four year old and some seventeen year old kid and you have problems with out it even being a case of the twenty four year old being predatory in there behavior... when I say predatory I am referring to those that are just looking for sex nothing more nothing less. I am also not condoning the relationship. when you are a teacher you should be professional with your students no mater what the age. I would have problems with a university professor dating his student if they were the same age.

My junior year in college, a friend and I were registered for an Advanced Algebra class. He told me this story. The first day of class he went into the classroom. An attractive young woman followed him in. He took her to be a fellow student, and invited her to sit next to him. She said, "Thank you, but I have to teach this class."

She was good looking, and was about 3 or 4 years older than we were, but could have passed for a student. Nothing came of his invitation. I recall her as one of the best professors I had in college. She did a fine job of teaching algebra.
