People argue that tariffs only hurt the consumers. I say that the taxes raised from tariffs should go to replace all the equipment worn out by the Afghanistan and Iraq wars.

That is a good point. It is a source of income. And, the tariff need only be large enough to take away any unfair advantage that currency fixing would create.

You could say that currency manipulation is a blanket tariff in itself.
