US President Barack Obama has been delivered a calculated diplomatic snub in Hangzhou, China, where global leaders are convening for the G20 summit.
The problems began as soon as Obamas plane landed in Hangzhou on Saturday.
Unlike Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin, South Korean President Park Geun-hye, Brazilian President Michel Temer and British Prime Minister Theresa May, Obama did not have the red carpet to walk on when he stepped off the plane.
The US president was also forced to leave Air Force One through a little-used exit in the planes belly, only used on high-security trips, after Chinese officials failed to provide the rolling staircase.
In addition, there were heated altercations between Chinese and US officials after reporters were met by a line of bright blue tape held by Chinese security guards, who did not let them watch Obama disembark.

Look at what Obama did to Netanyahu.
While I think Obungler is the worst president in history, and I can’t wait to see his corrupt rear out of there, I don’t like the Chinese much either. They probably would do the same thing, no matter who’s president.
It would be different if they were muslim.
IT would be different if they were the UN, a muslim driven organization.
Obama has done his best to weaken the hub of western man, all to the benefit of the islamic world, and the G20 sees it.
and have acted appropriately.
Obama: weak & pathetic - a continued embarrassment to our country, and our enemies know this.
I guess the Chinese know a dud when they see one, the only ones who don’t is a good portion of the American public.
Boy, that just SCREAMS "free press"....donit.
Any decent President would have left and let them deal with world reaction.
The cause, from what I have read, was that American security officials did not agree with the choice of driver of the motorized staircase with the red carpet. He did not speak English so the Secret Service could not give him commands. So then a search was made for a suitable translator to ride with the driver of the motorized staircase.
As for the Susan Rice problem - Chinese security officials didn’t recognize her, so wouldn’t let her get near AirForce 1. Then she went off on them.
for later
Oh the PRC are all evil commie scum, but it’s kinda funny to see Obola treated this way by his leftist brethren. Not a highlight of US diplomatic history by any means.....
Ill bet my last dollar they will never successfully do that with Trump.
I'm not sure they will even try, but if they do Trump will be gone in less than a minute, Less than a minute by the clock.
He'll insist they fly here for the next meeting.
I would hope he would, and yes, let them deal was the fallout. The Obungler didn't have the sense to do that.
I wonder, however, if Trump will be able to substantially cut into the huge trade deficit with the Chinese? If he does, I doubt that will endear him to the Chinese. I would like to see it.
I believe Trump that he can get our books to at least balance with most nations, but especially with the Chinese.
He also predicts they will respect us a whole lot more.
We are going to be getting along with nearly everyone in just a few years, and I’m looking forward to it.
It must be Trump’s fault.
Could you ever imagine China insulting a US President 50 years ago?
That doesn't explain the red carpet and lack of official welcoming delegation.

It’s the fifth time I’ve read it on F.R. today, from various sources. F.R. is a U.S. outlet as well. Not trying to be a smart ass, just saying it’s readily available. Wife read it on FaceBook and saw it on T.V.
I disagree. Asians are polite, even to people they don't really like. Especially in an official capacity. For them to do this is a very unusual occurrence.
