Unless he really knew what he was doing, chances are the memory devices wouldn’t be damaged by hammering the thing. However they probably would not contain any info of interest as mail wouldn’t be stored in nonvolatile memory like pics, mp3s, yoga schedules, etc might be.

(c) The person to whom you give the phone, can then see your EMAIL and look at the DRAFT.
(d) Once read, they delete it.
It never gets ‘sent’ through ‘servers’ ...there is no electronic trail.....the evidence is gone.
(e) lastly, the phone must be smashed to destroy any remaining data (like a PC, deleted files are not actually ‘erased’).

One of our younger relatives was an II/computer wizard.
He recommended the same procedure as you recommended except to use a metal bucket to hold the hot water, bleach, salt and your drilled hard drive after you drilled the holes into the hard drive.
Leave it over night and throw it way.
Hmmm, not so sure about the metal bucket.
Metal buckets introduce Zinc as a sacrificial metal; which would donate electrons to the iron to retard corrosion. I am just a silly engineer, so metallurgy was one of my college fetishes; stainless steel sinks have some trace amounts of Nickel and possibly Zinc (depending upon SS formulation).

I honestly doubt it. As a matter of fact, I do not believe they store powder for anything. If they did they shouldve been firing and reloading as fast as Obama has been running roughshod over the constitution.

I’ve had a cell phone since 1998, which I upgraded every 2 years. During that time, I helped raise 3 kids, had a full time job, took care of a household, and stayed active physically. I have NEVER once lost my cell phone. The level of incompetence and negligence shown by this beast is off the charts! Of course, she wasn’t paying for a new phone....WE WERE!
Physically destroyed while in office or after the FBI demanded she turn them over. Big difference between the two which the article failed to distinguish.
