San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has said he plans to sit out the national anthem tonight, just as he did in the preseason game against the Green Bay Packers last week and other games this summer before reporters took notice.
He says his protest will continue indefinitely. When theres significant change and I feel like that flag represents what its supposed to represent in this country, Ill stand, Kaepernick told reporters Sunday.
[snip] The timing of the Military Night is coincidental, a Chargers' spokesman told the San Diego Union-Tribune earlier this week, adding that the team sponsors a Salute to the Military once every preseason.

The boos will register a new high of decibels
Go figure.
TIM TEBOW honored GOD for his abilities. He goes.
KAEPERNICK encourages young minds to dishonor America, GOD, and authority. He stays.
AMERICANS can do without football to evoke change.
On his first play, I hope his offensive line “fails” to block well...on purpose...resulting in a strong, legal hit on this idiot. Then they can repeat until he can’t get up. That should send a message he can understand.
Wouldn’t it be funny if his offensive line kept opening up so that gets sacked over and over again.
“NFL QB Colin Kaepernick Set to Sit Out National Anthem Again on Military Night in San Diego”
So this “manginia” is going to sit and pout like a little &itch on the sidelines, okay, Defense, Defense, Defense...I hope the defense eats him alive.
It is his constitutional right to express himself as he pleases.
But not standing for the National Anthem spits on all Americans. What a brain-dead low-life.
Stop buying tickets; don’t go to games
Trade him to the North Korea national football team (if they have one). If he doesn’t salute their flag we won’t have to worry about the guy again... ;-)
Since the NFL didn’t allow the Dallas Cowboys to put a sticker on their helmet or jersey honoring the fallen/murdered Dallas policemen; but support Kaepernick’s Constitutional freedoms, I guess it’s ok if the Cowboys just sit down on the bench to show their support during the anthem.
They wouldn’t do that, his linemen are probably professionals at their jobs, even if he isn’t.
I have not watched professional sports of any kind since 1998. So I am not current with the various players these days.
I hope the Frisco 49er’s lose every game they play as long as this a$$hole is on the team.
Meaningless gesture that will not go over well in San Diego. If he really cared, he’d actually do something productive to help right the wrongs he sees.
“Simple solution: His coach should tell him to wait in the locker room until hes needed. He can sit all he wants there.”
Also, stick his nose in the corner since he’s being uncooperative and not a team player.
Is this on television? I want to watch the Salute to the Military. Who is broadcasting?
How can a muslim play football with a pig skin? Or do they not use an inflated pig’s bladder with a leather covering anymore?
This punk’s 15 minutes of fame are about over. Another pampered athlete who was never required to have a thought in his head makes a last grasp at relevance before he heads into a well-deserved obscurity. He will now be remembered as a punk, instead of just another failed quarterback.
Unfortunately Chipper is a balless little self hating white and a mere self help coach for a team overwhelming populated by a special interest group / protected class who no doubt support Nappy headed Kappy
I don't know much about San Diego fans but since it hosts a naval base I have to believe there are a lot of patriotic people there.
Number one - he won’t play and Number two - I bet most of the NFL players think exactly like he does but most have too much to lose to risk taking a stand. NappyKappy on the other hand is on his way out of the league anyway - he’s not good enough to play and he’s bad press
