But playing on the team is a voluntary activity, and this is a condition he’s demanding of his players. I don’t see how it’s a violation of their rights and subject to a lawsuit. They’re all free to own firearms.

That said, I think it’s a stupid policy and I wouldn’t entertain playing there with that condition. Hopefully everyone else feels the same way.

They are under scholarship contracts. He is trying to amend those contracts, unilaterally, in ways that contravene The Constitution. I also believe those contracts would include clause that both parties much agree, in writing, to change or add anything.

So yeah, it’s not “voluntary” and his “condition” is both illegal and unconstitutional.
