Like Bulgarian and Ukrainian Olympic judges back in Soviet Union days who gave American ice skaters a crummy score after a strong performance, on todays Morning Joe Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough totally trashed Donald Trump on his visit with the Mexican president.
For not raising the issue of who would pay for the wall, Scarborough screamed he choked! I cant stand people that choke under pressure! Brzezinski was reluctant to discuss the trip at all, dismissing Trump as a fringe, alt-right Republican candidate . . . lets not pretend this is some sort of foreign policy discussion. This is stupidity.

“Morning Joke”
Trump “owned” the day.
Vote Trump 2016
Some may still have the luxury of ignoring them, but others must study them. We are at war; we need Intel on the enemy.
At this point, does anyone even watch “Morning Joe” other than our good friend GLGB?
The libs at DU should be happy this morning; they predicted this reaction.
It's what they wanted - and by extension, what the "Just Us" Department was hoping for. That's why they are so pissed today; Trump didn't take the bait.
No problem! There are those doing the yeoman's job of collecting enemy Intel for us...
He didn't cave on who pays and we don't need to spread the notion that he did.
Obviously these Stupid Jackasses know nothing about International Relations and The Art of the Deal!
Trump was VERY PRESIDENTIAL...a true statesman.
Was blood coming from Mangina Joe's eyes and where ever?
Had to completely stop watching these propagandists several weeks ago (I didn’t like my blood boiling within a half hour of wakening), but do enjoy these threads... a way to take a peek in at the asylum.
I think most Americans are unaware of Mexico’s tax policies on imports. The tax on cars is huge. It is why Mexico has a frontier zone with special license plates along its border with us. US cars leaving the frontier zone have to have paper work that has to be returned when you leave the country. Mexico takes tax matters seriously.
And oddly enough, they have a serious attitude about who they let live in the country. You cannot just decide you’d like to live in Mexico and just move there. You have to ask their permission which they may or may not grant—and can revoke at will. It is almost as if they think they are a sovereign nation whose borders actually mean something.
By now I would be out of TVs, and through all of my blood pressure meds.

ROTFLOL!!!!!!!!!!
Fine, but even if he does cave on payment it’s a secondary issue. It’s the type of thing that good negotiators use to get what they really want. Trump doesn’t really care about getting Mexico to pay, and they were never realistically going to agree to pay anyway. It’s just a way to control negotiations - the Mexicans get to say they stood up to the US even as they agree that the wall should be built.
Not that Trump would mind if he did get Mexico to pay. It is just not the main issue. We should not mind if our tax dollars pay for the wall either. At least that would be a Constitutional use of tax money. Border security certainly falls under the realm of providing for the common defense. (and promoting the general welfare too, but that’s been so abused I would really rather not use it as a justification for anything)
“alt-right” is soooooooo yesterday, Mika.....
Well said. I think the two men liked each other. When Trump is president, it won’t hurt Nieto to have invited him to Mexico. Vincent Fox was a scumbag. Promises, promises, and we paid for everything
I was also referring to the “negotiation” with the lefties and MSM. In one day, Trump changed the issue from “Should we build the wall” (or even CAN we build it) to “Who’s going to pay for the wall.” That’s a huge win for Trump. He completely changed the narrative literally overnight.
I think they are in a state of FUBAR.
If he caved on the issue of who pays, so what
..........................................................
He didn’t cave. Remember that. Otherwise, right on all counts.
Trump was the invited guest and one doesn’t stomp on the toes of one’s host. The door was opened on a new relationship with Mexico. I look forward to Trump sealing the deal which will be good for both countries.
Yes, you're right - it can be done that way - the way you say - or a hundred other ways. Mika and Joe are too shallow to see the subtle... they both feel Trump's talking about getting Mexico to 'cut a check'... Insane. It's getting harder and harder to watch the show.
