Phoenix (CNN)That idea that Donald Trump is softening his immigration policy: Not going to happen.

The Republican presidential nominee on Wednesday re-upped the harsh immigration rhetoric that electrified his primary campaign, vowing "no amnesty" for undocumented migrants living in the United States and promising to build a "beautiful" and "impenetrable" border wall that Mexico would pay for -- hours after that country's president vowed that it wouldn't.

I am getting the impression that the media are acting like a fish on a hook: first twisting this way, and then that way (”Hey! Trump is bad because...”). However, nothing seems to work.

IIRC, they did not start using Teflon when referring to RR until *after* the 1980 election...

I saw the speech. Best I’ve seen in years. So much that needed to be said. Red meat for patriots. Cut Obama and Hillary a new one without hardly even mentioning them.

He looked quite Presidential today twice. If Trump doesn’t get a big bump in the polls from this then I’ll be convinced the pollsters are flat out lying to us and rigging their polls.

CNN tried to sow doubt about Trump’s policy convictions. The attempt was obviously false from the get go, just like the current claims by CNN are false. Trump isn’t lying about his policies.

Most Americans in the middle play by the rules and are tired of being made to feel guilty for having to pay for failed social experiments by people who ignore laws.
