“The governor left the obscenity-filled voicemail for Gattine last Thursday, after Gattine criticized the governors remarks at a town hall forum the night before as racially charged. Gattine has denied calling the governor a racist.
The governor said hes been keeping a three-ring binder of arrested drug dealers in Maine, and he says 90 percent of the faces in it are black or Hispanic.
Several times since, LePage has continued to focus on the race of drug dealers, even as lawmakers have challenged his assertions.
He didnt soften that position on Tuesday.”
For telling the truth I suppose.

From the article:
LePage also apologized repeatedly to Rep. Drew Gattine and his family for leaving a threatening voicemail last week.
He said he plans to invite the Westbrook representative to a face-to-face meeting to talk further.
When I was called a racist I just lost it, and theres no excuse, the governor said. Its unacceptable. Its totally my fault.
LePage said being called a racist for him was, like calling a black man the N word or a woman the C word. It just absolutely knocked me off my feet.

I live in Maine and heard the governor’s interview on “Maine in the Morning” this morning at 7:30 AM. It was repeated at 8:30 AM.
The governor apologized for leaving a “profanity-Filled” message on the voice mail of a democrat Maine House member, after the Maine House member called Gov. LePage a “racist” for claiming out-of-state drug dealers and black and Hispanic, which they are.
That is what he is apologizing for....the profanity.
