(Maine Gov) LePage says he is considering resignation, apologizes
Portland Press Herald ^ | August 30, 2016 | Eric Russell

Gov. Paul LePage raised the possibility Tuesday that he may not finish his second term, amid mounting pressure from Democrats and members of his own party to amend for his recent actions.

“I’m looking at all options,” the Republican governor said while appearing on WVOM, a Bangor talk radio station. “I think some things I’ve been asked to do are beyond my ability. I’m not going to say that I’m not going to finish it. I’m not saying that I am going to finish it.”

He later said, “If I’ve lost my ability to help Maine people, maybe it’s time to move on.”

Rob Poindexter, spokesman for the House Republicans, said Minority Leader Ken Fredette, R-Newport, and Assistant Minority Leader Ellie Espling, R-New Gloucester, would not comment on LePage’s remarks until after their members meet this evening.

Democratic leaders said LePage’s apology did not go far enough and called on legislative leaders from both parties “to get in the same room and discuss these very serious issues.” Democrats have said they believe LePage is unfit to serve and should step down, and that a legislative censure would be insufficient punishment.

Democrats can talk about binders, but when LePage mentions his binders full of drug dealers, or Romney talks about binders full of women, the liberal media attack.

The democrats want to discuss “these very serious issues.” What a bunch of bull excrement. Democrats only want to get LePage out of office. That has been their goal since he was elected and re-elected. They hate him with a passion, just as they hate all conservatives. Democrats never want to discuss true serious issues: welfare, crime, 2nd amendment rights, decreasing the cost and impact of state government, etc. LePage is a great governor. Keep speaking your mind, Governor LePage. You consistently drive the opposition bonkers. Stay true to your beliefs.

He had nothing to apologize for...he said what was the truth...people can’t hear the truth anymore, they want their ‘rose colored’ glasses on all the time, that’s not the way life works, get over it...

Don’t resign, finish your term and make their lives hell on earth!!!

Urgent message to Governor LePage: Governor LePage, please do NOT permit your enemies to pressure you into some ridiculous “mia culpa” mindset and thoughts of resigning your office. You are an enormous inspiration to everyone who is sick to death of all the PC crap that the Left is constantly trying to jam down our throats. Give ‘em all the middle finger salute and hang tough for clear thinkers everywhere.

> “The governor said he’s been keeping a three-ring binder of arrested drug dealers in Maine, and he says 90 percent of the faces in it are black or Hispanic.”

A century ago it was Irish and the Italians.

Today it is the Blacks and Hispanics.

It is cultural and I’m sure LaPage understands that. By cultural meaning broken families, poor education, lack of opportunities, etc.

LaPage appears to be following Trump’s lead in attacking those that create division by driving a wedge of racism into every issue. These wedge pilers, these provocateurs are not helping, they are not recognizing that LaPage has done more than they to solve problems. They are not solving anything, they are just adding to the problems.

Blacks and Hispanic underclasses are stuck where they are because democrats and liberal republicans have exploited them as victims of injustice.

It is not injustice that keeps them in the gutter. It is a lack of a heavy hand of discipline that they need in their formative years.

There’s a lack of discipline because the democrats have spent a large part of taxpayer dollars creating a brand of victims of racism. Any attempt to discipline the members of these underclasses during their formative years is seen as a continuation of racists beating their slaves. And Blacks themselves know this picture is wrong. They know that discipline is needed but they are stuck because no one has the stones to turn the situation around in the face of false allegations of racism.

Examples of the above abound around the world.

In the Caribbean West Indies, the Islands of St. Kiss and Nevis which are united under a composite flag and are easily within sight of each other, connected by commuter ferry boats, are more than 90% Black stemming from the history of the sugar fields worked by black African slaves.

Nevis is where Alexander Hamilton was born and raised. A hurricane caused devastation and he wrote about it. His writing was of sufficient caliber that he was brought to the mainland where he worked as a writer and received a more formal education. So Nevis has a history of producing incredible human beings, and they are not all white.

Today Nevis is populated mostly by Blacks who are law abiding with intact and strong families, who value education as witnessed by children required to do hours of homework every night without fail, by respect for elders and for tourist visitors.

The island of St. Kitts is another story. There is alcoholism, prostitution, theft, assaults, etc.

Both of these islands are small with St. Kitts being the larger, and they are very near to one another.

But the cultural differences of these mostly Black populated islands could not be more stark.

The difference is that the seat of the government resides on St Kitts whereas Nevis is governed mainly by elders of the island.

On Nevis, it is the Black fathers that discipline their children and Black mothers that assure the children are well-behaved and presentable in public.

On St. Kitts, where there are police, jails and strife, there is little discipline other than life in a jail. And when jails are emptied, the crime continues.

In other words, disciplining children on St. Kitts is much more difficult than on Nevis. The lack of discipline leads to broken families, government interference, and an overall vicious cycle. But on Nevis, the minute one child shows disrespect, there is a quick response of a heavy hand to teach the child proper hehavior.

Has anyone ever seen a Democrat ask a Democrat to stand down?

End of credibility! LePage should stay. Stick the truth in their faces 24/7/365 Mr. LePage.

I live in Maine and heard the governor’s interview on “Maine in the Morning” this morning at 7:30 AM. It was repeated at 8:30 AM.

The governor apologized for leaving a “profanity-Filled” message on the voice mail of a democrat Maine House member, after the Maine House member called Gov. LePage a “racist” for claiming out-of-state drug dealers and black and Hispanic, which they are.

That is what he is apologizing for....the profanity.

The governor did not say that 90% of drug offenders are black or hispanic; he said that 90% of the out-of-state drug dealers selling heroin in Maine are black or hispanic.

The local TV stations show the booking photos of these out-of-state heroin dealers and the governor is right in regards to their race.

The governor said that most of these drug dealers are from Lawrence, Mass.; Lowell, Mass; Danbury, Conn., and the New York boroughs of Brooklyn and The Bronx.

He feels VERY strongly about this issue because people are dying left and right from heroin overdoses in Maine.

The governor DID say that the crystal meth dealers arrested in Maine are from Maine are almost all white.

I live in Maine, and your post is spot on.

The democrats hate the guts of ultra-conservative Governor Paul LePage, and have been trying to get rid of him since day one.

He has apologized for his language.....time for everyone in Maine’s state government to move on already.

The governor said he’s been keeping a three-ring binder of arrested drug dealers in Maine, and he says 90 percent of the faces in it are black or Hispanic.

I guess the governor missed the memo; when spoken about a protected class, TRUTH is the new HATE SPEECH!
