When I was a kid, back in the 80s, I was walking down my street and two black teens passed me. I was around 12 and they were probably 16 or 17. After the walked past, one turned and ran back at me and punched me in the back of the head. I dropped but wasn't knocked out. He and his buddy walked off laughing. There was no reason for this other than plain meanness.
I don't think the knockout game was a thing back then, or at least nobody talked about it. But I guess I was a victim of a proto-version of it.
