Ever since reporting emerged that Trump might be softening his stance on deportations last weekend, the press has been trying mightily to figure out whether Trump still plans on deploying a deportation force to rid the country of undocumented immigrants, and this morning, Chris Wallace was the latest to try and get a straight answer out of the campaign. Conway seemed to send mixed messages, telling Wallace that there would be no legalization and no amnesty, but also making a rather unclear point about Trump and the deportation force: Now, the deportation force, I would like to address that. He hasnt mentioned that since last November, I think in a few of the debates as you point out. In his convention speech last month, hes consistent on that now in terms of addressing these many different areas of a complex issue. What Conway seems to be saying, then, is that while Trump will take no steps to legalize any of the undocumented immigrants who are already here, he also wont use a deportation force to deport them, and that if you go back to your home country, you can apply to come back legally. That sounds an awful lot like self-deportation, but we wont know for sure until Trump delivers on his now-delayed immigration speech, and even then, probably not. Donald Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway appeared to diminish the role of Breitbart News chairman and Trump campaign CEO Steve Bannon Sunday morning in an interview with Fox News Sundays Chris Wallace. When pressed about Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clintons speech blasting Trumps courtship of the racist alt-right, Conway told Wallace that shes in charge, and Bannon is a mere consultant...

But really, is good policy a tough question? Is getting the details on doing the right thing wrong? Apparently it is.
Strategy is about winning a campaign. Policy is not strategy unless that policy isn't a core value and can change with the wind. Unless we're saying that this particular policy isn't what the American people want or is just supported by a few so it needs to be camouflaged.
Agreed. Not sure if I trust her. Definitely prefer Katrina Pierson.
We should be all about clarity and knowledge of our candidates positions and purpose.
As KelleyAnne pointed out nobody knows how many there are.
First define illegal. I’ve had co-workers working on a tourist visa, a student visa, etc. I’ve had co-workers where there are 5 or 10 consultants all using the same ID.
The anti-illegal voices agree that these are illegals. How do you count them?
Many in the 30+ H1b type visas lied, and their employers and client companies lied. We agree that they are illegals who are not being prosecuted.
These are people with visas we can track.
Then there are those with no Visa. How many of them are there? Many of these with no Visa are seasonal workers. They go South in November and return in March. So do we count the number in Summer or in Winter?
Why do we need an exact number anyway?
HELL NO - THE LIBS DO NOT GET A PASS.
When you play football, do you tell the other team’s Coach .. look here, we’re going to do this and do that .. and then we’re gonna to such and such.
YOU THINK THAT’S A SMART IDEA ..???????????????
NO, IT’S A STUPID IDEA .. YOU DO NOT TELL THE OPPOSITION WHAT YOUR STRATEGY OF THE GAME IS.
AND HELL NO, I WILL NEVER GIVE THE LIBS A PASS - THEY HAVE HAD ALL THIS INFORMATION AVAILABLE TO THEM ALL THESE YEARS ON THE CLINTONS - AND STILL THEY REFUSE TO BELIEVE WHAT THEY HAVE SEEN RIGHT BEFORE THEIR EYES - THEY MADE THEIR CHOICE .. I DO NOT HAVE TO REVEAL WHAT MY STRATEGY IS TO DEFEAT THEM.
Policy positions are not strategy, all caps not withstanding. Are you seriously saying candidates should not tell you what their policies or beliefs are so we can make an educated decision on who to support? Come on man, put the emotions aside and think about what you are saying.
Apparently we are fearful that deporting illegals is not a popular topic that will earn votes. So because of that we don't want to give the voting public the necessary details of what they can expect from the person they will cast a vote.
What you're supporting is politics as usual. Fuzzy promises that are meaningless. We seem to be afraid for Trump to say "Read my lips. All all out effort will begin to have illegals sought out, identified and deported".
So far she is doing pretty well.If she veers off course Trump will fire her.
Katrina could learn from Kellyanne’s skills. She is really good.
She controls interviews perfectly. She also takes care of the fact that what Trump says for media consumption is not always perfect.
“First define illegal”
That is easy: Someone who is here in violation of the immigration law.
“Why do we need an exact number anyway?”
Have you heard anyone demanding the exact number when an exact number is impossible to identify?
It is that the number has been low balled in order to hide the severity of the problem.
The left does not ask what their beliefs are .. they hate our beliefs .. and a policy question has nothing to do with strategy.
STRATEGY IS THE WHOLE BALLGAME. Why would you want to tell your opponent what you’re planning to do ..?? That doesn’t make any sense.
YOU LIE .. JUST CHECK MSG 22
Our conversation is over.
I never said give libs a pass. I said let’s agree libs get a pass. Reading comprehension problem?
Classic “Overton’s Window”, as (ironically) popularize by none other than Glenn Beck! You stake out a position that many will find far beyond the pale and then, when you pull back a bit, the recipient feels incredibly comfortable.
