SANTA CLARA — Colin Kaepernick didn’t do much to warrant headlines with his performance on the field Friday, but he’s certainly in for his fair share of scrutiny after he sat through the national anthem before his preseason debut against the Packers.
Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com was first to report Kaepernick didn’t stand for the national anthem and got the 49ers to issue a statement on the matter. The statement from the 49ers to PFT:
“The national anthem is and always will be a special part of the pre-game ceremony. It is an opportunity to honor our country and reflect on the great liberties we are afforded as its citizens. In respecting such American principles as freedom of religion and freedom of expression, we recognize the right of an individual to choose to participate, or not, in our celebration of the national anthem.”
Kaepernick has used his social media profiles to showcase his political beliefs but has never before made a statement of this magnitude. It will be interesting to see how the 49ers and/or Kaepernick address this further.

He is probably not long for the NFL anyway. If he gets cut, he can claim islamophobia.
Ever notice that biracial folks, the black parent abandons the kid, the kid ends up being raised by the white half of the kid’s parents or grandparents, and then the kid later on despises the white half and identifies with his/her black half?

Fire his lame wanna-be-black ass and cancel his contract. He sucks, anyway, and traitors should be punished. He can do whatever stupid and insulting thing he wants off the field, but when he’s representing the team, he should be ordered to act decently.
The guy just ruined his career for the rest of his days. This is a just punishment for his idiotic actions.
It’s all coming together now. He’s trying to impress his fiance, who belongs to the hate group called Black Lives Matter. They need to get rid of him, he will soon become an even worse influence on the other players.
Be careful Kap, the fiance may say,’Prove how much you love me, put this vest on and walk into that mall.”
Meh, as a Seattle fan it just gives me more reason to disrespect the formerly great 49rs more.
The team the Seahawks hate playing and respect the most in their division is the Rams. (Rams have their number)
Respect is earned by winning, the symbolic idiocy of being a spoiled brat disrespecting what the flag stands for is just a silly stupid way to lose respect.
