A former top diplomat and Senate Democratic leader said that America's border must be closed and restraints put on uncontrolled immigration.
Former Maine Sen. George Mitchell, a top Clinton fundraiser and former State Department roving mediator, told an audience this week that America has to give up its practice of letting in anybody who wants in.
The Bill and Hillary Clinton ally said that the U.S. should also look at where immigrants are coming from when it sets limits.

Talk to Christians who are Lebanese, Armenians, Syrians, Egyptian, anywhere from the Middle East and you will get an earful about Muslims. Those Christians who lived under them, or heard the stories of their grandparents under the Ottomans will tell about the degradation, persecution and abuse. Muslims murdered 1.5 million Armenians, and the world remained silent. Even Hitler, in his embrace of Islam actually said, “who remembers the Armenians?”.
The Jews have been the only group to take back what Muslims consider to be Islamic lands. That will never stand with Islam, and that is why a two-state solution is a pipe dream. That is what western liberals don’t understand.
Our media is silent about the continual murder and persecution of Christians and Jews who live in Muslim countries? They are being driven away because Islam is unapologetically a violent religion. If they told the truth, many would demand a Muslim ban on immigration.
I would submit that Sharia must be dissolved and that Zhudi Jasser, an American Muslim veteran, understands this problem and has good answers. The political Islam - manifested in Sharia, must be destroyed.

That needs to be amended out of the Constitution.
Birthright citizenship may have been appropriate 150 years ago, but it creates millions of problems in the 21st Century - US children with illegal foreign parents.
What I suggest is:
The first sentence of Amendment XIV is hereby repealed.
Every child born in the USA after April 30, 2017 shall have the citizenship of their mother.
