Not really that strange. We have been averaging over 1,000 new residents a day for almost 2 decades. It is so bad that over 2/3’s of our population was born somewhere else.
Florida is no longer a southern state.

A portion of the Yankee influx are white, non-Jewish baby boomers and older, second and third generation Americans, from New York and New Jersey. In other words, Trump's own people. Trump will lose the black, Jewish, and non-Cuban Hispanic vote. However, stronger support among the white, non-Jewish voters than Romney or McCain received should take him over the top. Plus North Florida and the Panhandle are still part of Dixie.
