With most of New Jersey's voters residing in the northern half of the state, Republican presidential nominee will most likely make his appeal to Jerseyians via a Parsippany home base, according to The Daily Record.
District 25 senator and NJ campaign co-chair for Trump, Joseph Pennacchio, told The Daily Record that the office will probably open shortly at Powder Mill Plaza on eastbound Route 10. A Trump campaign office did open in Edison this past May, but closed shortly after.
Pennachio explained to The Daily Record, "About two-thirds of the state population lives north of Middlesex County, so it makes more sense to be up here so many people, hundreds of people, up north want to help."
According to a late June Fairleigh Dickinson University PublicMind Poll, Trump has the support of 32 percent of registered voters while Hillary Clinton was able to garner about 44 percent. Although she still has a lead, those behind PublicMind say Trump still has a strong base, as well as the indirect benefit of third party candidate, Gary Johnson, vying for the loyalty of would-be Clinton supporters.
Here in New Jersey, Trump support is solid among about a third of the electorate. Theres less certainty than for Clinton, although with a 21 point lead over Trump in a major party matchup, she can weather the loss of support given the addition of an Independent candidate, said Krista Jenkins, professor of political science and director of PublicMind. Trump and his team may have calculated strategically to base their NJ operations out of Parsippany, but the last Republican presidential candidate to have won NJ's electoral votes is George H.W. Bush, in 1988. And in a state where more registered voters today identify as Democrats, Trump's team will probably still have a bit of work to do in NJ.
I think this is new as well.

Oh and thank you for posting this story :)
Should’ve set up inner city Newark as his Jersey base - as long as his limo could have shrugged off some direct homey hits.
Need the city votes, early and often!
I work in Morristown and drive by every day. hmmm, guess I have no excuse now.BTW, Hillary is advertising in NJ. Saw a few ads while in gym tonight
Hillary advertising in states that are normally a lock.
With her falling behind in national polls, the strategy now makes sense.
First Freeper who comes to this thread to say that Donald Trump is "wasting his time" with New Jersey and that he needs to write it off should get pelted with overripe tomatoes!
Everybody grab a handful of these virtual tomatoes and be ready!
