Washington (CNN)Donald Trump ruled out Thursday a pathway to legal status for undocumented immigrants in the United States, walking back comments he made earlier this week in which he appeared open to the idea.
But the Republican nominee declined in an interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper to clarify whether he would still forcibly deport the estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants in the US -- a major tenet of his immigration platform -- after he suggested this week he was "softening" on the idea.

The so-called “11 million” is actually 30 - 50 million illegal aliens and the number is growing more and more by the damn day.
Most of the illegals are not asking for citizenship. They want green cards. They want to stay here, work, and be able to cross the border. The Democrats want to make them citizens so that they can vote Democrat. Why should we give citizenship to somebody who a) came here illegally and b) is not asking for citizenship.
I think we should bring back the old bracero program. That way the laborers keep the families and home in Mexico. They could come up here and work for a few months and they must go home for a few months. That way they can build a little casita in Mexico and keep their kids in Mexico.
“Can he rule out citizenship for their children?”

I don’t know, but birthright citizenship must come to an end.
If someone is here illegally, their kids born here should NOT be automatic citizens.
Anchor babies born in late 1998 on U.S. soil can legally vote in this Fall’s election. That is not right.
Hell, they're running for president. What's the problem?
Follow existing law.
No new laws that benefit those breaking current law.
Cut off employment and benefits and they will leave the same way they got here.
Trump put an end to that with this.
Everyone is trying to figure out the difference between the Trump speeches and Campaign Manager Kellyanne Conway’s media presentations in discussion of them. Many are perplexed. However, it all appears to be part of a larger campaign strategy.
Campaign CEO Steve Bannon is in charge of the speeches, the content, the messaging and delivery therein. Followed by Campaign Manager Kellyanne Conway in charge of how the campaign engages with the media in response to those speeches. It’s a bad cop, good cop scenario (per se’).
Trump/Bannon attack the establishment, then Conway sells it as a call out to the more moderate middle (hence the appearance of “pivots”). Each role-player with a unique role to play.
It’s a little bit funny because depending on your source of media, there are two simultaneous campaigns.
If you watch TV (traditional media) you get mostly the softer message, the “moderate middle” conversation. However, if you actually watch the event rallies -and take the messaging from the direct sourcing- you get the more coarse version, the brutally honest version, the “vulgarian/anti-establishment conversation”.
It’s an entirely new era, a new paradigm in campaigning.
It exists because some one wants it to, clearly it was not decided by law, just feel good custom.
Get that damn DIVERSITY lottery thing and fill it with all the IA famiies names with EXTREME DT CRITERIA:
no SS# fraud
no welfare use
no moving traffic violations
no child support missed payments
u get the idea...
THEN you cull the crap out of the gazillions
Then pick a reasonable number to equate a given countries annual allowance-put names in lottery and spin that sucker.
Then close down the DIVERSITY LOTTERY FOREVER
BUILD WALL,etc...
There will be a legal status for illegals if Hillary becomes president. Obama has laid the groundwork.
Why is he playing around with his immigration stand? He has nothing to gain, but a lot to lose.
He should not play around with his promises on enforcing current immigration policy and building that wall. He promised to make illegals leave our country.
Gonna have to wait and see. The least complicated part of it will be securing the border - then it gets messy and he will have tons of opposition in his own Party.
The best thing we can do is to try to give him an overwhelming mandate - by donating as much as we can afford to his campaign.
If one isn't donating to Trump and bothering to Donate to FR while they are at it, their complaints have as much smoke as is currently coming out of Hillary's @ss and it's the same kind of smoke....
Agree. They want the job and money to wire home. Live here as cheap as they can, and go back home one day when enough has been sent.
They do not want to be Americans. Most do not want to learn English and live our way. I work around many Mexicans here, see it regularly. They really want their old territory back from the the U.S. -- Reconquista.
Much the same for muzzies here. They want us to become like them. They do not want to become Americans. Time to call out this b.s. for what it is.
I want to see stiff penalties for employers of illegals, quick deportation of illegals, bounties on illegals, no voting rights ever for illegals or those given amnesty or their children, a serious border fence and repulsion actions, and an English ONLY rule for all governmental forms, processes (except for border crossings, embassies and immigration services) and schools (except for foreign language classes).
Tag line.
