I really hate the term working class. I am almost 50, and I will bet any amount of money that close to zero percent of similar age working class people have worked half the amount of life time hours I have. And I am away from home most of the time. I will further bet that I can do 75% of their jobs minimal training (except high skilled jobs that require years of training), but less than 1% of them could do mine.

Working class is a stupid term, like fixed income. My income has always been fixed all my life.

I hear you. I have a job that can only be described as “highly skilled” for which you need a ridiculous amount of education. And I still work plenty of 10 or 12 hour days.
