What on earth are you blathering about? What "Jewish orthodoxy"? There is no central structure of authority in Judaism, unlike Catholicism. Jewish families, no matter where they were, would follow Jewish law, not start up their "private traditions", if they were observant families. And Orthodox leaders reasserted their authority in Christian nations? What proof of that do you have? The massacre of Jews in York in 1190? The Black Death accusations and massacres in the 1300s? The expulsion of Spain's Jews in 1492? The pogroms organized by these Christian nations to kill their resident Jews in the 1800s? The Holocaust?

My interpretation of ‘orthodoxy’ is a monopoly of a religion. The Jewish religious leaders weilded secular power in Amsterdam that punished those who questioned their rigid demands.
