Laughable.
You mistake social with physical.
Jeez, what a bunch of stupid arguments for this or against that. How about we all just stay out of other people’s business and quit putting people in jail for nothing more than doing as they please. A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away someone said... among these rights are the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Or maybe I just dreamed that.
I once saw my uncle chug a full pint of 100 proof Smirnoff vodka in under two minutes. He had it bad.
For anyone who has not been directly exposed to such addiction would find it hard to believe.
It’s worse than that. Wine lovers in Jesus’s day did not worship and idoloze wine. Pot lovers today if given the choice between Jesus and pot would tell Jesus to go eff himself. Potheads place pot above everything else. Pure idolatry.
Not really. I was a conservative before I began using cannabis. I’m still a conservative now that I use cannabis.

My sister in law lives in Boulder, Co. Last week she was in for a visit & we asked her if she noticed anything since weed was legalized. She assures us (she is the mother of 4 kids, nice lady) that her family has not seen ANY problems related to cannabis legalization. Not on the roads, in the parks or in the schools.
Decriminalize it federally & let the states decide.

Two things.
1. You are more an exception.
2. You probably are not as conservative as you think.
Pot smoking is bad. You should quit. It hurts your mind and soul. Messes up your psyche.
I’m not pro pot in any way, but your analogy is wrong. Have your ever read the Bible? People in Christ’s day were just as evil, and alcohol causes more deaths each year than any other substance.
As in the days of Noah...
Do the poor get their pot at government reduced/free rates?
A classic example of this regressive redistribution is in Georgia where the profits from the state-run lottery are used to fund free tuition for upper-middle class college kids.
This is the natural, normal-state condition for humans, along with need for rest and relaxation and the twin desire to experience pleasure and avoid pain.
Otoh, excessive self-medication, whether with substance or activity, is more likely a symptom of underlying problems in the environment, rather than being the actual problem itself.
Those responsible for creating these environments that are harmful to the human spirit also like easy scapegoats to blame for their resulting problems.
So, the symptoms become the problems to be treated, while the actual cause goes unaddressed and the problems get worse, creating evermore symptoms requiring more and more solutions.

When I first saw that video, it blew my mind. I’ve never seen anything like that.
My dad was an pitiful sort alcoholic, and my stepdad was a violent alcoholic. Neither of them had this poor man’s problem though, however, alcohol totally destroyed both of their lives, professional and personal.
They say alcoholism runs in the genes, but I don’t know. My dad gave my grandma a book called Adult Children of Alcoholics. It was his way of telling her that her drinking problem was the cause of his, but if that was the case, I’d be an alcoholic too.
Conversely, my brother, who is the son of my step dad, is an alcoholic. He isn’t violent that I know of, but he has to drink all the time.
He cannot even take his two young sons to their skiing lessons without drinking 2-3 beers to loosen him up as he says.
Why not just be sober, Charlie, why not just be sober? But he can’t.
I don’t think he will end up as this man in the video did, but it’s possible.
From watching that, I see that it doesn’t necessarily take long to occur, and my brother drinks every day.
we clearly need more laws to protect adults from their own behavior. Big government types step up.
I think that is definitely true.
But in order for an addict to be able to cure his own addiction, which is the only way an addiction can be cured, he must arrive at the answer to that question.
What are you running from? What is it that you fear or hate so much that you must medicate yourself into oblivion every chance you get in order to escape it?
And even then, even when able to answer that question, some still will continue, because they just can’t face that thing. Some people lose their battle with addiction, very sadly.
Some people, at the end of a day, like to sit back and have a finger of good single malt.
Some people like to sit back and put down a cold one.
Some people cook their BBQ on coal instead of gas.
Some people spend too much of their lives in front of TV.
Some people puff cigarettes.
Some people puff cigars.
Some people puff the weed.
None of it is any good for you.
You either live in a society that has liberty; or you do not live in a society that has liberty,
There are plenty of people on FR that want you to believe MJ is as big of a medical discover as penicillin.
Secularization cannot bring a right answer.
Banning alcohol was never a truly Christian thing in the sense that it is a truly Islamic thing.
A lot of people are so invested in the idea that the essence of God is vengeance, that they are unwilling to take any other view.
