President Barack Obama said in his weekly address today that he had set aside “more than 265 million acres of public lands and waters” as national parks and monuments, which is “more than any administration in history.”
Among the national monuments he created, Obama said in his weekly address, was “Stonewall.” This monument commemorates riots that took place in 1969.
Citing Yosemite and Yellowstone national parks, leading into his citation of Stonewall, Obama said: “As President, I’m proud to have built upon America’s tradition of conservation.”
The president said in his June 24 proclamation [1] creating the “Stonewall National Monument:”
“In the early morning hours of June 28, 1969, a riot broke out in response to a police raid on the Stonewall Inn, at the time one of the City's best known LGBT bars. Over the course of the next several days, more demonstrations and riots occurred in the surrounding neighborhood including Christopher Park. During these days, because of its strategic location across from the bar, Christopher Park served as a gathering place, refuge, and platform for the community to voice its demand for LGBT civil rights. The Stonewall Uprising is considered by many to be the catalyst that launched the modern LGBT civil rights movement.”

99%+ of the U. S. have never heard of this Stonewall Inn. It’s a monument to nowhere.
Look what I did, I have mismanaged millions of acres of public lands. It has been all about restricting the use of public lands for the public good. These are lands that would have been making the government money, instead they are being mismanaged and creating a huge fire load. Obama is insane.
I’m guessing the Mooch and the girls are gonna be off on a worldwide gala tour to investigate flooding caused by global warming. Paris, London, Barcelona, Milan, Rome, Prague, et al....you know, all those places prone to global warming flooding. They’ll be back on November 7.
Just think, this gay beer joint joins the likes of other National Monuments such as the Washington Monument, the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, the Grand Canyon,
and Mt. Rushmore, etc.
