Senator Cruz stunned conservatives when he refused to endorse Donald Trump at the RNC Convention in Cleveland. This came after Cruz was thumped in the GOP primary race. Perry leads Cruz in a senate primary matchup 46% to 37%.
The Texas Tribune reported:
A new poll suggests there is at least one fellow Republican who could unseat U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz in 2018: Rick Perry.
The former Texas governor would beat Cruz by 9 percentage points, according to the forthcoming survey from the Democratic-leaning firm Public Policy Polling. Set to be released later today, the poll found Perry would get 46 percent of the vote and Cruz 37 percent, with 18 percent saying they are not sure whom they would support.

Conservatives don't possess those traits.
“He is a true unethical, lying, back-stabber.”
Nah, he’s an unethical, lying, back-stabbing conservative.
Seriously, just find somebody besides Rick Perry (I’d even prefer Dewhurst).
I’m not up on TX politics other than Perry did good (reportedly) for the TX economy. Apparently though, like Booosh, he’s loose on immigration. Not good.
Ryan won his primary just a couple of weeks ago.
McCain will likely win his.
Just to name a couple.
I would hope eyes have been opened, but Clinton is polling at around 45%.
LOL. Butt hurt lotion pic! Love it.
Good what? Rick Perry does not hold a candle to Ted Cruz where it counts. Never liked Perry. While many are mad that Ted made a run at Trump, so what. Cruz is ten times the conservative that Perry is. That is what counts.
We are not mad that Cruz made a run at Trump. We are mad because he is a low life slime who refused to endorse Trump despite his prestigious placement at tthe convention. He is dead to us. And, always will be.
Letting go of a dream takes time for some. I don’t hold a grudge, he basically told us to vote Trump without saying his name. So what. I bet even Cruz votes for Trump, what else matters? Just some convention drama.
The fact that a squish is leading Lyin Ted in this recent poll should
tell u how far Cruz has bottomed out. Not how far Perry has risen.
Cruz screwed his own pooch.
I would prefer to vote for Greg Abbott in the Republican primary for the 2018 US Senate race, should he run.
Cruz is Ready for Hillary:

You’re right. This is not good news.....
It’s AWESOME news!
The long farewell for Toxic Teddy.
In the Senate race of 2012 Cruz got 34.16% in the primary and 56.82% in the runoff
against Dewhurst. In the General Cruz got 56.46% against the democrat’s 40.62%.
In the Presidential primary this year the 43.76% was against 13 other GOP candidates.
“We need Cruz in the senate.”
Not so much since he is a globalist. We need a PRO AMERICA Republican in the seat but there HAVE to be better choices than Lyin Ted
Vote Trump 2016
More fuel for the fire. The MSM has made quite a lot more than you give them credit for that even respected members of the GOP won’t for for Trump. Over and over and over. Cruz, Ryan, Romney and their ilk played right into it intentionally. You can let it go. Not me.
A few days ago Rick Perry made strong statements in support of Trump.
Me three!!
Oh, I let it go for Cruz only. Cruz stood up for me against the GOPe too many times for me to forget. The GOPe are NOT so easily forgiven. Not at all. Their lack of support and betrayals have been going on for years against this country and my interests. I will not forget nor forgive that. Cruz will see the error of his ways when he can get over his disappointments at losing. I can understand that a lot more than Ryan and his ilk who betray us behind closed doors in DC with the Democrats.
Party God, good. Let’s add Mitt Romney, Lindsay Graham, Mitch McConnell, and Paul Ryan to the hit list of people that are trying their best to destroy the party. They are overstepping the vote of the people over the last year. We hired you, we can terminate your contract when it comes up. Do what we told you, or you’re gone. Simple.

Patrick, probably. But he really needs to raise his profile. Abbott, possibly. If he can stay healthy.
Not sure why he really needs to ‘raise his profile’ though. He led a 4 way primary with 41%, and then he soundly beat Dewhurst (the bigger name) 65% to 35% in the runoff.
Then he whipped his female Hispanic Democrat opponent 58% to 38%.
I think he be a great conservative Senator.
