I have looked at that statue at the Indian Museum in Kolkata. It is definitely Shiva. And Shiva is not demonic, that is a misconception in the west.
Hinduism is a demonic religion that denies Christ, and it gods and goddesses are all demons. Anything else is hair splitting.

As far as Christianity is concerned, ALL pantheistic gods emanate from the demonic, regardless of how their own religion views them. Even an “innocuous” god, like a god of love, or god of good luck, we would view as a creation of evil, to draw worship away from the one true God.
