It doesn’t seem to take much to miss a turn or make a wrong one, especially when it’s the first time on a particular base. And when you’re busy rubbernecking to take in all the sights. LOL!

Me too! The only sightseeing we did while in FL last year for Dad's memorial service was going to the museums at Ft. Walton and at Pensacola. Both are awesome!

I’d love to see those! We happened on to a show with the Blue Angels in Corpus Christi once by accident...and HAD to stop and watch even though we were on the freeway. LOL! Wonder we didn’t get run over!

If you ever get to the FL panhandle, those museums are highly recommended seeing. The one at Ft. Walton is the smaller one but they have a LOT packed into the space. And VERY COOL war birds all around the building outside.

Give yourself a lot of time for Pensacola. It’s huge and they have a lot packed in there, too. We didn’t give ourselves time to get to go on the bus tour of all the planes outside in the back and were disappointed. But we saw plenty inside and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Oh, if we ever got there, my hubby would insist on taking as long as needed to see [and explain!] EVERYthing! LOL!

It’s just a very long way from here.

Might need two days for Pensacola then. LOL! There’s a LOT there to look at and explain.

One thing that freaked me out was seeing how tiny the space capsules were that early astronauts went up in. You see that stuff on tv and in your mind they’re fairly large but nope. Up close and personal had my hair standing on end.

I saw one of those at the Smithsonian and you’re right...I don’t know how they stood it. I suppose it’s not much different than some of the cockpits of planes they’ve flown. Or the quarters on a submarine! Yikes!

Guess I’d better get some sleep. I actually have to get up “early” at 7am in the morning. Oh, the inhumanity!

See ya next time! :)

Yes, those can be mighty tight quarters, too. One can’t be claustrophobic!

But still different in that those little capsules carried men into space and that’s a whole different ball game.

It takes a special breed to serve in any of those capacities and my lil straw farm hat’s off to all of them.
