The FBI warned the Clinton campaign that it was a target of a cyberattack last March, just weeks before the Democratic National Committee discovered it had been penetrated by hackers it now believes were working for Russian intelligence, two sources who have been briefed on the matter told Yahoo News.
One of the sources said agents conducting a national security investigation asked the Clinton campaign to turn over internal computer logs as well as the personal email addresses of senior campaign officials. But the campaign, through its lawyers, declined to provide the data, deciding that the FBI’s request for sensitive personal and campaign information data was too broad and intrusive, the source said.
The Brooklyn warning also could raise new questions about why the campaign and the DNC didn’t take the matter more seriously. It came just four months after the DNC had also been contacted by FBI agents alerting its information technology specialists about a cyberattack on its computers, the sources told Yahoo News
But after deliberating about the bureau’s request, and in light of the lack of details provided by the FBI and the absence of a subpoena, the Clinton campaign chose to turn down the bureau’s request, the source said.

Why did the DNC ignore the warnings given by the FBI?
So Hillary disrespected the FBI. FBI Director Comey is sure to get his revenge for this insult to his organization. Oh, wait. Never mind.
I still think the Russians resented having to hack into the the DNC servers. Back in the day when they were the good old USSR, they got that information from the democrats for free!
Perhaps Mrs Bill simply did not want the FBI to interfere in a planned and payed for data transfer that she thought was underway. The Breach thus wasn’t the news, but rather the breachers.
She was afraid that those who would set up security would have access to her secrets.

Just a guess, but the FBI would've probably needed routine access to the servers, and she wasn't through deleting the 33,000 "smoking gun" emails.
Yeah, but their intent was OK.
Why did the FBI warn them? Did they send out this warning to other private individuals, companies, political parties, etc..?
Simple, neither wanted the FBI to have any access to their illegal operations. They probably thought it was a ruse to gain access.

I love how they are pushing this meme that they were hacked by “Russian Intelligence”. If Russian Intelligence had the emails, I doubt they would think it helpful to release them to wikileaks.
That itself would be bad enough, but if the real leaker was that guy who was murdered that adds another to their body count.
While Wikileaks does not reveal their source, it did all but confirm he was the source.
