And why does a being that doesn’t reproduce need a gender?

Is that why we never see pictures of God in men’s pants? He always seems to be in some kind of long dress and has long hair.
The rabbi is obviously ignorant of ancient Hebrew ideas. Yahweh had a wife. A wife who was worshipped alongside him. Her name was Asherah. Investigate.
The concept of sex with God is meaningless. God has no need to reproduce. Gender is about nouns.
What these people are doing is constructing God in their own image, according to their own viewpoints.

God has attributes of both male and female
Also, since this new “Pope”, as near as I can figure, I am now a saint since all the things I thought were sins are now O.K.
Also, shouldn’t HE have referred to humanity as LGBTIQAPMFs?

The problem with a lot of great lies is that they are partly based on truths.
But this can also be the basis for setting those lies straight.
I’m a Christian now, but there was a time when I was trying to be serious about modern Judaism. I asked a rabbi (of more orthodox bent) once, when I was a child, why we called God “He” and not “She.” Showing a wisdom which I believe was prompted by God, he pointed out that many of God’s attributes are expressed in the feminine gender.
When God made mankind in His image, He was apparently not satisfied with just one sex to express that image. He produced a female sex for mankind out of Adam’s rib, according to the creation account.
The divine assignment for mankind has not changed. There are two normative genders, each one having a forte in a different area. Temporary overlaps of some duties are possible, but in mankind, permanent overlaps are not, and there are also absolute boundaries. Men cannot bear children, nor can women impregnate themselves. Yes, the system is abusable in fallen mankind, requiring some effort of will to manage to a blessing rather than to a curse.
I’m curious. What attributes of God are male and what are female? Do he have both a penis and vagina?
Other than rejecting the only begotten Son of God, I suspect another surefire way of guaranteeing your reservation in Hell would be calling God a transgender, too.
Deuteronomy 22:5 The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that. /
But anyhow, it’s the old Garden folly — mankind pretending to “be like God, knowing good and evil” (this is a task that any reason should tell us is impossible, given that their scope is larger than we are) that makes it possible to take what is holy and just making a huge unholy hash of it.
Of course we can’t figure out how to do this. God warned us as much. But “In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.”
