you guys make it sounds like Japan and the Philippines (spelled it wrong AGAIN!!) have the capabilities to take on China.

The IJN can definitely take on the PLAN (worst navy name ever by the way).
That’s about all they need to do, unless things go nuclear.

Perhaps putting up a good fight as did South Korea against North Korea in a recent bloody sea war won by the South, would be enough.
It’s too bad the Korean War was lost as was the ‘adventure’ in Vietnam, but both were proof that politicians run things. Had we decisively won WWII none of this would have happened. Had not Europe went to war over very cloudy issues there wouldn’t have been WWI that begat every war that followed.
