You talking to me? You talking to me?
Yeah, I'm talking to you. And I'm telling you that actor Robert De Niro has shown us what a liberal loon he is by comparing his Travis Bickle character in the movie Taxi Driver to Donald Trump. The Associated Press reported on De Niro's latest lunacy while he attended the Sarajevo Film Festival:

Most actors are not too bright. They say scripted lines. When they speak their mind is the tell.
Once again an actor reveals that they are very good at remembering lines that someone writes for them and at pretending to be something that they are not. But in real life they have not a clue as to what is going on because of the very soft cocoon that the weave around themselves with their egregious earnings.
I thought he was fairly good as “Fearless Leader” in that Bullwinkle movie.
I hope Hinkley shoots him.
To heck with what De Niro thinks;
He’s been a big supporter of a highly immoral president in Obama and so De Niro supports abortion and other evils.
Not a big fan of his movies though admittedly, some are very good.
He needs to get back to his religion as his moral compass, not being a hollywood do-gooder which is a joke. Similar problem with Springsteen, some very good music but I don’t like his politics.
I know someone who’s met DeNiro. The only comment was “one scary guy.”
I was thinking nurse ratchett.
If DeNiro were a democrat political strategist, he never would have made the comparison between Trump and Bickle. This looks to me like DeNiro unconsciously recognized the deeper similarities between Trump and Bickle but stumbled over his own awareness of it, focusing his comments only on the superficial dissimilarities.
Metaphorically speaking, the comparison is accurate and makes Trump look good.
If I remember correctly, Travis Bickle was the quintessential antihero who, despite his eccentricity, was on a simple human level quite sane. His ultimate sanity is demonstrated by the action he takes against a world gone mad.
Bickle protests the corruption of society by politicians. He lives amongst the scoundrels and low-lifes but his character walks a different path. At the end of the movie Bickle nearly loses his life fighting against the terrorizing pimps who prey on young girls.
