Timely that you raise this dentistry monopoly issue.
Regarding cost, a common tactic I’m seeing is high volume dental offices advertising low ball cut rate new patient cleaning & x-ray exams for $69.
You go in, and get a hygienist in your mouth telling you that you should get a comprehensive cleaning for $149 more.
What!
Very little tartar, calculus crude, and you get hit with an uplift in the middle of the cleaning?!
Then there’s the “you should come back to get that old crown replaced” routine that costs $900+ for one damn tooth!

Screw dentists and the way they’re going.

I just spend 600 big ones at the dentist after neglecting it for years! Still have a couple small cavities.

They pushed “deep cleaning”, 140 dollars PER QUADRANT OF THE MOUTH. Like hell!
