Breitbart/Gravis Poll: Virtual Tie in Georgia, Trump 45% to Clinton 44%

Donald J. Trump, the Republican nominee for president, holds a 1-point lead over Democrat Hillary R. Clinton in Georgia, according to a Breitbart/Gravis poll conducted Aug. 4 through Aug. 8 of 1,604 registered voters in that state.

“Trump is in a precarious position,” said Doug Kaplan, the managing partner of Gravis Marketing, the Florida-based firm that executed the poll for Breitbart News. The New York City developer leads the former first lady 45 percent to 44 percent in the poll, he said. The poll was conducted using automated phone calls with online responses and carries a 2.5 percent margin of error.

“Trump has shown strong support in states that have been considered locks for the Democrats and has had trouble in states that have been considered locked down as Republican, such as Georgia,” he said.

“Clinton has a real chance to flip states like Georgia, forcing Trump to play defense, while she then works to reengage with states that went for Obama twice,” he said.

President Barack Obama lost Georgia in 2012 to former Massachusetts governor W. Mitt Romney by 304,861 votes with Romney taking 53 percent to Obama’s 46 percent.

Kaplan said when respondents were asked to consider Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson and Green Party nominee Dr. Jill Stein, Trump expands his lead to 43 percent with Clinton dropping to 39 percent and Stein the choice of two percent, Johnson eight percent.

Broken down by party, Trump was the choice of 76 percent of Georgia Republicans and eight percent of Democrats.

Clinton was the choice of 91 percent of Democrats, 11 percent of Republicans.

Meanwhile, no one is talking about NY. This is where Trump can call Hillary a carpetbagger and talk about how they moved to NY to buy her a senate seat.

Trump can win NY.

Keep in mind that “pro-GOP” and “pro-Trump” are not the same thing.

This poll is bunkum.

If Trump loses Georgia, the race is over.

the likelihood of Trump losing GA is virtually non existant...

“...when respondents were asked to consider Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson and Green Party nominee Dr. Jill Stein, Trump expands his lead to 43 percent with Clinton dropping to 39 percent and Stein the choice of two percent, Johnson eight percent”.

Ok, in the real world Trump is up 4% which is outside the margin of error.

Folks, these polls forcing voters to choose ONLY between Trump and Hillary are not reality. Johnson and Stein are on the ballot in Georgia.

The current electoral map is shaping up to look like the 1996 final map. I think folks are thinking about getting Bill Clinton by voting for Hillary. He’s more popular than Obama.

43 to 39 sounds about right.

This is one poll I would trust.

These polls may be correct, but I am not sure how they measure the intensity of each candidates voters.
I know that every Trump fan I know will be voting.
And only a few of the Clinton people I know seem to be excited in the least about her being their pick.
She doesn’t seem to inspire many women other than the liberal, pant suit wearing type.
This election cycle is crazier than any I have ever seen. I have never heard so many democrats or former democrats say without hesitation that they were going to vote for the GOP nominee, yet poll after poll seems to not reflect my observations.

One thing all the polls have in common is Hillary is getting 10 to 15% of Republicans voting for her and that is killing Trump.

With the 24 hour barrage of attacks from the media and constant attacks from other supposedly “Republicans” the anti-Trump movent is so far succeding at what had to be done for Hillary to win....Trump has to be more hated than Hillary.

I believe that is where the race stands right now. Most people hate Trump more than Hillary.

Trump really needs to get some attack ads on the air. People are only seeing Hillarys ads and it is hurting Trump.

I really question what team Trump is doing. It seems they are all sitting on their hands while Trump sinks. He is close or is losing in states he should be ahead in.

Something has to change.

When you allow your opponent to completely control the message for months on end and choose to do nothing, that’s what happens. And it’s something Trump chose to do. June and July are the perfect months to define yourself with a media marketing campaign. He chose to do nothing and allow Hillary and the media to define him...something he continues to do to the present day. Hillary is not just heavily running ads in the local media markets in the battleground states, but she is also advertising nationally - all without response. She is running multiple ads during the Olympics - nationally. While watching the Olympics I have seen this ad (among others from Hillary) run multiple times: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dtk1eX7UBE This undermines Trumps entire branding. This sort of the thing is the only message about Trump a huge number of voters are seeing. Hillary is in complete control of “The Living Room Campaign” - something that doesn’t have to be happening but Trump has decided not to even try to compete for this huge number of voters.

With Hillary drawing most of the Dems and only 75% of the GOP voting Trump here, if he looses you can only blame it on idiot purists, America is past the tipping point and there is future leeft. Trump SHOULD BE way ahead. This SHOULD BE a no brainer.
