Used to live in Memphis, traveled out of there extensively (and all over the world). The TSA there is the worst of anyplace I encountered. It is basically an “attitude” problem them have.
I had a carryon that had a difficult pocket area to open. The lady was struggling with it. I reached over and pointed to the button to open it. She slapped my hand away and said if I tried that one more time I’d be handcuffed. (I couldn’t believe what I heard). She struggled again then turned to me and said “open it” ... I said “Lady, I wouldn’t touch that bag for a million dollars, you’re so good, figure it out yourself.” That got me a little face time with the manager of the line. I explained what happened, he told me to open it and, since it was still on the belt area, I refused to reach over to it. Finally he figured out the button and I was on my way.
This kind of thing happened over and over. I don’t think it is a TSA thing in Memphis, to me it looked like a black arrogance thing. There wasn’t a white person on that entire security line. And it was the whites that got hassled. Throwing a WHITE cancer patient on the ground at Memphis TSA security doesn’t surprise me at all.
I was raised just SE of Memphis in Mississippi....................
I won’t fly out of Memphis anymore if I can find a route out of Nashville. The TSA in Memphis is an affirmative action group that despises whites. Memphis has become a very dangerous place with which for whites to travel.
I lived in Memphrica in the early 1990’s... not surprised either..
I had an older lady working the check out at the mid town Kroger just demolishing my groceries...yet the other folks ahead of me in line, no issues, just more melatonin... I confronted her and told her I grew up in upstate NY and did not shoot MLK... she actually broke down and cried... over time we became friends.. several years on I moved out of Memphrica and we traded Christmas cards till she passed a few years ago.
