CNN ^ | 10-08-2016

Donald Trump on Wednesday again slammed Hillary Clinton and her campaign for allowing the father of Orlando shooter Omar Mateen to sit in the stands behind her at a recent rally.

But sitting behind Trump was ex-congressman Mark Foley, who resigned in disgrace in 2006 after sending sexually explicit messages to underage teenage boys.

This is the most pathetic headline/story I’ve seen in months. The desperation—it’s stinking up the place.

"I can't do this, Sam. The Freeper pearl-clutchers and concern trolls are right! Hillary's won!"

SAM: "I know. It’s all wrong. By rights we shouldn’t even be here. But we are. It’s like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes you didn’t want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy. How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened.

But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn’t. Because they were holding on to something.

FRODO: "What are we holding on to, Sam?"

SAM: "That there’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it’s worth fighting for."

It is proper to call him out on it. And he likely had no knowledge of the attendance list of invitees (I'm assuming that to sit up there you must be invited). So some junior staffer who was still in high school ten years ago and never heard of Foley probably just saw "Republican ex-congressman" and OK'd him. Said staffer will now get admonished to google search history on invitees or requestors.

See, this is where I have a hard time with our side. If Mark Foley had been making the moves on your child (Freeper, please imagine yourself in this situation right now), you would want to take him out back and flay him. And rightly so. Pedophilia is not homosexuality as some here are trying to equate. I get it that the media over-hypes everything to the point of end-times mania, but we don’t have to act like we have to defend every little indiscretion.

...

Is Foley a pedophile? Was he ever charged with a crime?

Were they underaged? I couldn’t find any mention of that in Wiki.

Let’s not forget, Foley was guilty of Texting some Pages. There was no proof that anything went further than that.

Obviously Liberals hate Gay People when they attack Foley but put the Father of a Person who Murdered 49 People, many Gay at the Orlando Gay Nightclub.

I remember the Democrats defending one of their Male Congress critters who was actually caught having Sex with an under aged Male Page.

Alleged pedophile. Maybe catching him with the emails kept him from acting on their content. My point remains. I’m not sure where Mark Foley’s head is at today, but if he were caught emailing your teen with sexually explicit material, how would you react? Would you give him a pass?

Alleged pedophile.

...

Other than CNN, who is alleging?

What he did was inappropriate, but it doesn’t compare to what Hillary’s husband did, and her enabling him.

And that’s all! Not a big deal...until you begin to make it one. Too many around here throw their chests out over every thing. Pick you shots. You support a candidate...a human being. When snafus pop up, own them and move on (and BTW, this could actually be used to advantage).

According to Wiki he was told that if he didn’t resign the GOP leadership (including real pedophile Dennis Hastert) would have him removed from Congress.

Foley did act on the emails, but he waited until the boys were of legal age first. The charge was that they were still underage when the emails began.

Sooner or later, rank and file Trump supporters may realize that the Republican party does NOT want Trump to be elected. I’m not talking about the mythical GOPe but the GOP itself.

What does it say about the GOP that Donald Trump was their nominee? Let's face it, they are dead in the water, the brand name has been so damaged they will never be a majority party again, no matter how bad the Democrats are.

To be fair..when hillary is on stage you can easily see who is in the audience of whopping 50-100 people.
So, father’s of mass murderers stick out.
When Trump is on stage its hard to know who is in his audience ..of thousands.:)
