What does it say about the GOP that Donald Trump was their nominee? Let's face it, they are dead in the water, the brand name has been so damaged they will never be a majority party again, no matter how bad the Democrats are.
It says that the Republican wing of the Uni-Party has lost the loyalty of the rank and file. Hell, even the incumbent politicians with an (R) after their names don't know whether to $#!t or go blind. By and large they are just keeping their heads down and their feet dry.
As far as "brand" goes, who cares? Whatever is going to engender the trust of the people could call itself whatever it wants, be it Republican, Hutu, Tutsi or Donaldsonians.
Far too much "party" and not enough "American" is what has brought us to this point. The apparatchiks, glad handers, back slappers, "public servants" and hangers on are what brought us here and I am quite content to sit back and watch them and their patronage system blow up.
You're worried about the RATS taking over. If that's what the people want, that's what they'll get. Of course when they go "to far" (whatever that may be) perhaps the people will take things into their own hands. At that point, cops and the military will have some tough choices to make.
