France feared the repeated terrorist attacks and constant threat would put some of the 85 million annual visitors off coming. Now the evidence is emerging.
August 15th is one of the biggest weekends for tourism in France. Its the height of the summer holidays and a long weekend which pretty much guarantees everyone who can get away will do.
Its a date that those who work in the tourist industry look forward to, but far less so this year as hotel owners, museum managers and restaurant workers all know that many of the usual visitors will stay away.

They need to clean up “no go zones”. Can’t offer terrorists a sanctuary.
I’m sure the the millions of Muslim welfare rats will make up the lost revenue
Pretty soon to get real French culture you’ll have to go to Busch Gardens instead of Europe.
The French won’t take care of business, so they’re losing business.
I hope they enjoy their moose limb guests. Choke on them.
they need to eject the moslems
It’s the only industry they have. Europe will be in flames this Fall.
They've probably already spent this month's check.
Give ordinary citizens Francois & Mariane the right to carry guns for self defense. It’s their country that’s being overrun with violent Muzzards.
Foreigners would feel safer almost immediately.
Then announce “Americans with CCWs are welcome to bring their defensive weapons into France, just declare them to customs” and France’s tourism problem would be solved overnight.
Yeah, I know. Too much to hope for.
Most of Paris, IMHO, is a 3rd world sh**hole. You can go to any N. African city for 1/4 price, if that’s what you are after.
If you want to go to the “real Paris”, go to Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Sad as Paris is the experience of a lifetime. During my last trip in early 2006 I was riding the Metro one evening when two Muslims wearing backpacks entered my car. Despite the car being almost empty they stood in the corner and discussed things in Arabic. I got off at the next station and took an alternative route back to my hotel. I fully expected to read in the morning newspaper about a subway attack. I love Paris and the French people. Too bad a Muslim plague is infecting the country. Pray for France and that the spirit of Jean d’Arc and Charles Martel rise again to save France.
In that case, I’m glad I visited in the early 1980s before the big influx.
There were people from the islands there selling mechanical windup flying toy birds back then, though, saying “oiseaux, oiseaux”.
Good video. Thanks for posting it.
Glad to. A friend forwarded it to me in an email.
I see there are a bunch of others in the sidebar on Youtube.
Madness! Will we put up with that here? I’d like to think not but...
Funny you mention that. I have had to go there for business twice, for 2 weeks total, in the last two years. My first experiences in Argentina. I commented that much of the city looked like France or Italy of the 1970s - at the ubiquitous corner cafes and coffee shops, the waiters still wear bow-ties and formal wear - although the brothel-madam Kirchner really destroyed their currency and Argentina's ability to buy any decent coffee or chocolate to serve.
